Free agency officially began on Wednesday. Dallas Goedert, though, remains a member of the Eagles.
The team and the tight end agreed to push back the void date on Goedert’s contract from midnight Tuesday to Friday, Zach Berman of TheAthletic.com reports. The procedural move gives the sides more time to work out a contract.
It also prevented $20.5 million in dead money for 2026 from hitting the Eagles’ books.
Goedert wants to finish his career in Philadelphia after spending his first eight seasons with the Eagles, who made him a second-round pick in 2018.

Big Ten Conference action started for the UCLA Bruins this past weekend, with the Bruins picking up a sweep over the Wisconsin Badgers. The Bruins outscored Wisconsin 38-14 over the three games.

While we don’t know when the 2026 WNBA will begin amid ongoing collective bargaining negotiations, some of the game’s top stars were in action on Wednesday in the opening game of the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament. Team USA defeated Senegal 110-46.
Notably, Caitlin Clark played in her first game since July 15, 2025, scoring 17 points and dishing out a team-high 12 assists. Only Rhyne Howard scored more points than Clark with 21.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Saints traded punter Kai Kroeger and a 2028 seventh-round draft pick to Houston on Wednesday for the Texans’ 2028 sixth-round draft choice.
The trade, announced by Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, comes on the heels of New Orleans’ free-agent signing of former Minnesota punter Ryan Wright to a four-year, $14 million contract.
Kroeger is entering his second NFL season.
Undrafted out of South Carolina, he initially signed with the New York Jets last offseason before joining the Saints during last preseason.
