Quarterback Russell Wilson spoke with the media for the first time Friday since being benched in favor of backup Jarrett Stidham and told his side of the story.
It was reported earlier this week that Wilson has known for two months that the organization will likely move on from him this offseason.
“[The Broncos] came up to me during the bye week … and told me if I didn’t change my contract—my injury guarantee—that I’d be benched for the rest of the year,” Wilson told reporters.

Everyone loves a good NIL deal especially when it comes with some sort of goofy tie-in. I mean, who didn’t love DeColdest Crawford shilling for an air conditioning company? But I don’t know that we’ve seen any deals manifest in as unusual a way as Tennessee wideout Ramel Keyton’s deal with Cheez-it has.
The Volunteers will be playing against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Citrus Bowl at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium (which was — and should still be called — the Citrus Bowl).

Clemson capped its 2023 season on a five-game winning streak after beating Kentucky 38–35 in the Gator Bowl on Friday.
Shortly after the win, ESPN’s Taylor Tannebaum referenced old comments from coach Dabo Swinney that he stated back in November when his team was just 5–4 after a victory over Notre Dame.
How is Clemson’s stock looking now?
“It’s probably a little more expensive if you didn’t buy it then,” Swinney said with a smile.

As losers of 28-straight games, the Detroit Pistons (2–29) have little to be optimistic about this season. But while some may already consider it a lost campaign, the doom and gloom has apparently given guard Cade Cunningham a different perspective.

Fox Sports Radio host Monse Bolanos doesn’t think Lamar Jackson should be the NFL MVP this season.
Bolanos prefers “quarterbacks to be more ‘quarterbacky.’”
“To me, Lamar Jackson’s just a great athlete, and he’s done a really good job and he had a great game against the 49ers. Prisoners of the moment, he is not the MVP. Christian McCaffrey is the MVP and he has been. I’ve been saying this for weeks.”
