No bobbleheads and no postseason meant nearly no fans for the Yankees on Monday.
It was hardly a vintage performance, but the Bengals picked up a win thanks to solid defense.
Oregon managed to simmer some of the hype surrounding the Colorado football program over the weekend with a lopsided 42-6 victory on Saturday.
On Monday night, the Ducks released a cinematic recap of the game, and made sure to include some closed captions for the trash talking done by some Buffaloes players ahead of the clash.
At one point, Colorado cornerback Shilo Sanders, son of head coach Deion Sanders, could be overheard threatening Oregon’s team and head coach Dan Lanning.
“I’ll beat the f–k out of every one of y’all and your coach,” Sanders could be heard saying.
Rams cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon recorded a surreal interception of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on Monday night, snatching the ball out of the grasp of Tyler Boyd with one hand.
Witherspoon effectively stole a big gain from Boyd and turned it into an interception after he deftly plucked the ball away from Cincinnati’s wide receiver, who had nearly come away with the catch.
Boyd was clutching the ball to his chest when Witherspoon managed to scoop it free with his right hand while diving in the air.
The storyline of the Rams and Bengals meeting for the first time since Super Bowl LVI was rarely brought up. These are vastly different teams, with the Bengals entering Monday night with a broken offense and the pesky Rams playing with a nothing-to-lose attitude.
Before the Rams swiped the Super Bowl from the Bengals, they had plenty to lose as the aggressive franchise that frequently traded first-round picks for proven talent and better odds for capturing a championship. This year’s Rams weren’t given a shot to even sniff the postseason by most football pundits.
Jets fans aren’t the only ones tired of the Zach Wilson Experiment. New York icon Joe Namath let it be known that he’s done with Zach Wilson as the Jets’ QB1 after another disappointing outing by the former No. 2 overall pick.
The Jets have been desperately trying to keep the team together since the devastating injury to Aaron Rodgers.
Gutting through a calf injury, Joe Burrow didn’t play great but he didn’t have to Monday night as Ja’Marr Chase and the Cincinnati defense carried the load against the Rams in a 19-16 win.
Old footage resurfaced of a young Christian McCaffrey shaking defenders in a pee-wee football game.
Let Baker cook.
That sentence might seem absurd. After all, Baker Mayfield is now suiting up for his fourth team in three years after the Browns, Panthers and Rams all had a look and said no thanks.
Still, for the Buccaneers, the best way to play is allowing Mayfield to throw more on first down, especially to Pro Bowl receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
One of the biggest complaints emanating from Tampa Bay last year was a lack of passing on first down. So far, the early-down playcalling has still been an issue under first-year coordinator Dave Canales.
