As they battle for a playoff spot, the Houston Texans will be without their starting quarterback for Sunday’s tough AFC test against the Cleveland Browns.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, rookie C.J. Stroud has been ruled out for a second straight game after suffering a concussion against the New York Jets in Week 14.
With Stroud out, Case Keenum will start his second straight game for the Texans. Last week, he threw for 229 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 19–16 overtime win against the Tennessee Titans.
With the win, Houston moved to 8–6 on the season.

Before the introduction of the NBA’s in-season tournament, Christmas Day was the league’s primary early-season showcase. Even with the tournament in Las Vegas earlier this month, the holiday is still a big basketball draw with 10 of the top teams in the NBA taking the court all day long.

The Baltimore Ravens recently said they felt disrespected by oddsmakers considering them to be underdogs for their clash against the San Francisco 49ers on Christmas Day.

During their preview of the contest, Florio and fellow analyst Chris Simms discussed the 49ers-Ravens matchup, which is when the former gave Baltimore some strong bulletin-board material.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is not listed on the injury report for this week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, a sign that he will play in his first game since November.
Taylor underwent thumb surgery in late November that led to him missing each of the last three games. The 24-year-old, who also missed the first four weeks of the season with an ankle injury, has played in just seven games this year and totaled 414 yards and four touchdowns.
Chris “Mad Dog” Russo recently filled the ESPN airwaves with a hot take that Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal is just the fifth-best center in NBA history.
O’Neal isn’t having it.
“I’m the most dominant center ever,” O’Neal said on The Big Podcast With Shaq. “I don’t ever want to hear another name again.”
Russo argued to First Take co-hosts Stephen A. Smith and Jay Williams that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Hakeem Olajuwon and Moses Malone are better than O’Neal.
Robert Griffin III has had an interesting first few seasons since hanging up his cleats and picking up a microphone. He’s proven himself to be good at issuing takes that run the gamut from measured and reasonable to “He can’t really be serious about that.”
Still, the guy creates some TV moments that get people talking. Like racing a hawk, ripping his pants while jumping into a lake, and dressing up as Harry Potter.
However, none of those moments will live on the way the nickname he coined for Washington Huskies star QB Michael Penix Jr. — Big Penix Energy — will.
The guidance sent to schools allows for multi-time transfers in football and other sports to enter the NCAA transfer portal this fall or in the spring and then play immediately next year without a waiver.
