The Pistons era of futility has the whole internet laughing
The Detroit Pistons are in the NBA record books for all the wrong reasons. The Pistons have now lost 27 consecutive games, breaking the single-season NBA record for the longest losing streak. Detroit is on the precipice of breaking more records for futility among America’s four major professional sports, and it’s making every one of their games must-see TV.
The Brooklyn Nets beat the Pistons, 118-112, on Tuesday night in a game Detroit blew down the stretch.

Dante Hall was a bad, bad man during his eight-year career in the NFL, but after his recent comments about Patrick Mahomes showing some emotion, it appears he’s gotten a bit soft.
The Kansas City Chiefs have lost four of their last six games and look nothing like the AFC juggernaut we’ve grown accustomed to seeing over the last handful of years. Mahomes has thrown six interceptions and been sacked 13 times over the last six games and has voiced some understandable frustrations the past few weeks.

Bill Belichick may be facing Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen for the final time as New England Patriots coach in Week 17 if he moves on in the coming offseason, as many predict.
During his weekly press conference on Wednesday, Belichick was asked about the major progression Allen made towards becoming a superstar NFL QB in his third season. His passing yards increased from 3,089 to 4,544, while his touchdown passes nearly doubled, from 20 to 37. 
The coach made a curious comparison which some fans might not have expected.

After a superb 2023 season, Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Keon Coleman is taking his talents to the next level.
Coleman is declaring for the NFL draft, he announced on Instagram Wednesday afternoon. Though he did not formally indicate as such in his farewell statement, it is expected that the Florida State wide receiver will not play in the Orange Bowl Saturday against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Florida State receiver Keon Coleman will opt out of the Orange Bowl to prepare for the NFL draft.

The Denver Nuggets announced Wednesday that forward Aaron Gordon is away from the team while recovering from dog bites to both his face and hand. The team said the incident occurred on Christmas Day and he suffered several lacerations but that he’s in “good condition.” 
One of the bites was on his shooting hand and required 21 stitches, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. There’s no timetable on his return. 
Gordon played in his team’s Christmas Day win over the Golden State Warriors and scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds on the day.

Rob Gronkowski was not impressed by Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons’ social media habits on Christmas Day.
Parsons was kicking it over the holidays after his team’s Christmas Eve loss to the Miami Dolphins and watching the most highly anticipated game of the weekend. That was, of course, Monday night’s matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
As we now know, given the lofty expectations, the game was a bit of a dud. One of the most notable poor performances belonged to Niners QB Brock Purdy. He managed to throw a grand total of four picks and no touchdowns.

Russell Wilson’s future with the Denver Broncos has for all practical matters been written. And there is little to no chance he’ll get a new chapter with the team next season.
That’s the only conclusion one can draw following the team’s benching of the star quarterback Wednesday morning.
Coach Sean Payton announced in a team meeting that Wilson was out of the lineup and would be replaced by backup Jarrett Stidham for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, a club source confirmed.
Wilson will be the team’s No. 2 quarterback.
