Evans, who transferred to play for the 49ers during the offseason, spent his first two seasons at Vanderbilt. Although there are still a few weeks until Opening Day, he is expected to be the Conference USA program’s Friday night starter— the ace.

A top official with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is pressing lawmakers to give regulators authority to dig into the books of any firm seeking to acquire significant interest in any registered market player. In remarks published on Thursday, Democratic CFTC Commissioner Kristin Johnson said the agency needs authority to conduct “effective due diligence” on any firm that wants to purchase 10% or more of the equity interest in an exchange or clearing house registered with the agency.

Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard made history on Wednesday night in Portland’s 134–124 victory over the Jazz.
Lillard scored 60 points in the win, hitting the milestone for the fourth time in his career. At age 32, Lillard became the third-oldest player in NBA history to score 60, and it was was completed with historic efficiency.
Lillard needed just 29 shots and 10 free throws to hit the 60-point mark.
