Jimmy Butler has thrived in Heat Culture by expanding his horizons beyond just basketball.
Artists do it. I think of a place like New York City’s Chelsea Hotel through the 1950s, 60s and 70s, with every musician, visual artist and writer you think of as formative to those decades, plus Al Pacino, living there for a time. I also think of Andy Warhol’s migrating studios, spaces that came to be known collectively as The Factory for how many artists and performers produced work and riffed off (or ripped off) one another as they went through.

The Browns are hosting a quarterback workout Friday morning that will include former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco, according to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Flacco, who played for the Jets last season, has “kept his mind open” about an NFL return, says Rapoport.
The Browns are in desperate need of quarterback help in the wake of starter Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury. Cleveland’s other quarterback options include veteran P.J.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh questioned why Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson used a hip-drop tackle on the play that seriously injured starting tight end Mark Andrews’s ankle on Thursday night.
“It was definitely a hip-drop tackle,” Harbaugh told reporters after the game. “It is being discussed. It’s a tough tackle. Was it even necessary in that situation?”
Andrews left the win over Cincinnati and did not return. Harbaugh said the ankle injury will likely end his season, but an MRI on Friday will confirm.
This ankle injury for #Ravens TE Mark Andrews is so unfortunate.
The Los Angeles Clippers have not won a game since acquiring James Harden. Despite going 0-5 since Harden’s arrival – which can quite literally only be looked at as a negative at this point – ESPN has still given the Clippers as the new ‘big four’ in the NBA.
On paper, sure, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Harden is quite a collection of names.
But anyone who paid any attention to the NBA over the last decade would come to that conclusion themselves. For some reason, ESPN felt the need to deliver the new ‘big four’ nickname to the bunch.
It’s a tablesetter to Rivalry Weekend, but don’t even let anyone tell you this is a good slate of college football. What’s better is the rivalry currently going on in our SI Picks contest. We’re down to the wire and Pat Forde’s flawless week has seen him open up a slim lead.
All lines courtesy of SI Sportsbook. Last week: Forde 5–0, Johnson 3–2. Season: Forde 32-25-2, Johnson 29-28-2.
No. 10 Louisville (-1) vs. Miami
Johnson: Louisville. I think a focused Louisville team clamps down on the Canes who have QB issues aplenty. Too many to overcome in this matchup.
In this blockbuster edition of the Doctor Is In: Dr. David Chao looks at the return timeline for Cleveland Browns teammates Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb, analyzes Aaron Rodgers’ possibility of a mid-December return, and has bad news for Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch:
The big injury story of the week was Watson being declared out for the season by the Browns because the team says he suffered a displaced glenoid fracture during last Sunday’s victory over the Ravens.

After an abbreviated FP1, Ferrari showed their power in FP2
After all the pomp and circumstance, the cars finally took to the track on Thursday night at the Las Vegas Grand Prix for two practice sessions.
It did not take long for the first of those to be called off.
Early in the first practice session Carlos Sainz Jr.’s Ferrari came to a stop on the Strip. The culprit? A loose manhole cover. As a result, the session was red-flagged while race officials looked to secure the entire track.
Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork continues to work the phones and zoom as he looks for Jimbo Fisher’s replacement in College Station. One of the early names to get an interview is UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor, according to one report.
The search has been underway for five days now, publicly. Now, the American Statesman reports that Bjork spoke with Traylor for over 90 minutes on Tuesday. The UTSA head coach is the first name to be publicly reported as having interviewed with Ross Bjork for the Aggies head coaching vacancy.

Yes, the Las Vegas Grand Prix layout looks exactly like what you think
There are some pieces that you do not want to write, but the moment demands it.
This may be one such piece.
The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix is upon us, with all the glitz and glamour that Sin City has to offer. There was a huge Opening Ceremony on Wednesday night with driver introductions, musical acts, and more Elvis impersonators than Pierre Gasly seemed comfortable with.
Lions receiver Jameson Williams frightened and fascinated fans on social media earlier this week with a bizarre fast-food combination for his after-practice meal.
The second-year wideout’s McDonald’s order of a McDouble burger and Oreo McFlurry wasn’t unusual. But Williams then pushed the boundaries of reality by dumping the McFlurry onto his cheeseburger and then taking a picture of the creation to share on Instagram.
