The winning team of the Thanksgiving NFL games traditionally get to eat a celebratory turkey leg on national television after the win.
However, the Cowboys ate their turkey leg a bit earlier than that in their 45–10 win over the Commanders. After scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter, some of the Dallas receivers went to a Salvation Army kettle sitting beyond the end zone and dug out a turkey leg wrapped in foil for quarterback Dak Prescott to munch on.
Coach Mike McCarthy was shown smiling on the sidelines. Fans could tell he really loved the surprise celebration.

The team’s fourth-down risks continued on Thursday against the Packers, with some of the choices backfiring. In the third quarter, the Lions attempted to make a big play on a fourth down by faking a punt from their own 23-yard line. The Lions were stopped immediately and didn’t gain any yardage, giving the Packers the ball just outside the red zone.
