Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is “very close” to making a return from the hamstring injury that has caused him to miss six games this season, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Monday.
Jefferson will not be active for Monday night’s game against the visiting Bears, which will mark a seventh consecutive missed game, but he’s projected to return after the team’s bye week when it plays at the Raiders on Dec. 10.
Jefferson landed on the injured reserve list after hurting his right hamstring in Week 5 matchup against the Chiefs.

76ers big man Paul Reed provided Lakers star Anthony Davis with plenty of bulletin board material before the Philadelphia-Los Angeles matchup on Monday night. Reed was asked about the keys to defending Davis and was unapologetically honest in his response, calling the Lakers center “a big flopper,” per Austin Krell of ESPN.

“He’s a big flopper, so make sure that I don’t get in foul trouble early. Can’t be too aggressive with him. You know, he’s gonna be flailing. So, gotta make sure that I stay out of foul trouble.

These days, you don’t hear as much about the fourth-down gambles that go the other way, but Doug Pederson had one at the most critical moment of his Jaguars’ crucial AFC South showdown with the Texans on Sunday.
After Houston missed a 50-yard field goal with 25 seconds left in the first half, Jacksonville advanced the ball from its own 42 to the Texans’ 1 on a third-and-8. Trevor Lawrence found Christian Kirk on a deep crosser, and the speedy slot was pushed out by Tavierre Thomas just shy of the goal line. That brought up first-and-goal from the 1 with just a second remaining.

The feud between Ric Flair and Paul Finebaum over the Michigan Wolverines might be the strangest storyline of the college football season.
During an appearance on “The Matt Barrie Show” on Sunday, Finebaum took a significant portion of his interview to throw shade at “The Nature Boy.” Not lacking in stinging sarcasm, the college football reporter made his thoughts of Flair known.
“Ric Flair, let’s be honest, is done. The guy used to be at the epicenter of his sport and now he’s in his 70s and washed up and basically scraping for dollars,” Finebaum said.

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders left his team’s Nov. 17 matchup against Washington State with an undisclosed injury and then missed his team’s final game of the season Saturday with the same injury. Before the season finale against Utah, the two brothers were walking onto the field together, and Deion Jr.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day just can’t stop taking hits.
The head coach of the Buckeyes is under intense fire after losing to Michigan for the third straight year. The situation is so bad that Ryan Day is getting lit up on social media and Paul Finebaum is even suggesting he leave the program.
It seems unlikely to me Day is going anywhere given the fact he’s 56-7 in his career in Columbus, but that definitely hasn’t stopped people from trolling him.
That now includes a minor league baseball team in Michigan.
