Mack Brown could have just enjoyed his Week 1 victory over rival South Carolina. But he had to go and make it weird.
After the game, the North Carolina head coach headed to midfield to exchange pleasantries with Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer. After a brief chat, Beamer turned away to leave. But Brown still had something to say, so he grabbed his opponent by the throat to pull him back in.

At least buy him dinner first, Mack. Sheesh.

If it seems like there’s a lot of bad calls being made by umpires these days in Major League Baseball, it’s because it’s true—some of the guys in blue are just really bad at their jobs.
The latest example of this came in Saturday’s Rays–Guardians game in Cleveland when C.B. Bucknor rang up Bo Naylor on a pitch that did actually find the strike zone.
So what was the problem with this strikeout call? It was only strike two on Naylor, who quickly pointed that out to Bucknor. Thankfully, he was able to correct his mistake but this was not a good look:

It’s music to our ears. Literally.
For years, nothing could get a college football fan pumped for a Saturday Down South quite like that iconic SEC on CBS theme song. So imagine our horror when our hallowed tune wafts through the TV speakers before a Big Ten matchup. On a Sunday.

Between this and the new College GameDay theme song, is nothing sacred anymore?!
In 2019, CBS declined to renew its rights to SEC football.

Team USA ran into a roadblock following an undefeated stretch to start the 2023 FIBA World Cup. During a second-round matchup with Lithuania, Steve Kerr’s squad fell 110-104, failing to climb out of a 31-12 hole following one quarter of play.
The undersized American squad was led by 35 points from Anthony Edwards, but a late push to come back and steal a win wasn’t enough. Following the loss, the critics of Kerr’s small-ball approach were out in full force and had plenty to say after Team USA was out-rebounded 43-27 and gave up 18 offensive boards in the process.

New rules in college football are changing the way teams run their offenses. And Chip Kelly, for one, is not a fan.
Under the new rules, the clock no longer stops after a first down outside of two minutes. But even with less stoppages, there still seemed to be an alarming number of commercial breaks in Week 1.
“These new rules are crazy,” Kelly said. “We had four drives in the first half. Hope you guys are selling a lot of commercials.”

Chip Kelly isn’t a fan of a recent change implemented by the NCAA in relation to clock management during college football games. The change Kelly appears to be referencing during a brief interview at halftime of UCLA’s 27-13 win over Coastal Carolina, was implemented to speed up college games.
With this new rule, the game clock will continue to run on first downs except for during the final two minutes of the second and fourth quarters. Not surprisingly, Kelly, who has been known for running a fast-paced offense, doesn’t appear to be a fan.

Lithuania stunned the basketball world on Sunday with its 110–104 win over Team USA in the FIBA World Cup and added some insult to injury after the game.
While celebrating with his teammates in the locker room, Lithuanian guard Vaidas Kariniauskas appeared to be rocking a Team USA cap to poke some fun at the Americans. The loss didn’t knock out Team USA since it was the last matchup in the group stage, but there will certainly be some bad blood if these two squads match up again.
