The Knicks have signed guard Josh Hart to a four-year, $81 million contract extension, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Hart’s contract with New York will now pay him $94 million through the 2027–28 season.
Hart was traded from the Trail Blazers to the Knicks at the deadline last February in exchange for Cam Reddish, Ryan Arcidiacono, Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2023 first-round pick. Hart immediately integrated to the Knicks as a core member of the backcourt rotation alongside former Villanova teammate Jalen Brunson.
In 25 games with the Knicks, Hart averaged 10.

Last week’s landscape-altering conference-realignment moves have left a Power 5 league staggering and seen some of college athletics’ biggest brands switch conference affiliations. The Big 12 started this round of realignment with its move to swipe Colorado from the Pac-12, and the Big Ten went in for the kill with Oregon and Washington.
In general, these moves are made entirely based on football. It’s why Stanford, the nation’s best athletic department 26 out of the last 29 years, is left in flux as things stand today.
Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles told reporters Wednesday that Baker Mayfield will start Friday’s preseason game against the Steelers and Kyle Trask will start next week as the quarterback battle rages on.
Much has been made about who Tampa Bay will go with under center since both players have plenty of intrigue surrounding them. Mayfield signed with the team during the offseason with the full expectation that he’d be the franchise starter after some good years with the Browns and short stints with the Panthers and Rams.
Good morning, I’m Dan Gartland. I never would have thought I’d be writing about Jon Singleton twice in two weeks.

A clutch moment eight years in the making
Hardcore baseball fans probably remember the name Jon Singleton.
The Baltimore Orioles have pissed off Paige Spiranac with their spineless treatment of announcer Kevin Brown, which means we now have a problem.
I was OK with everything up until now. But once you poke the Pageviews bear and stir her up, you have my attention. Unfortunately for the Orioles, Paige Spiranac effectively runs the show around here, which means they are now Enemy No. 1 moving forward and will be treated as such.
Sorry, Birds.
“I swear the people in charge try to make commentating as boring as possible,” she tweeted Tuesday.
Deion Sanders made Colorado relevant in a matter of months days hours. A team that won just one game last season became an instant high-interest college football program as soon as Coach Prime took the job.

Sportsbooks list the Buffaloes’ expected win total for 2023 at 3.5.
Sanders is confident that his team will be better than people think.
Blue Jays reliever Chad Green was removed from a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday night after he was inadvertently hit in the head on a throw down to second base by catcher Tyler Heineman.
Green, who was nearing his debut with the Blue Jays following Tommy John surgery last year, signed a two-year contract with Toronto this offseason. The 32-year-old pitcher gave up one hit on 11 pitches in two-thirds of an inning before leaving the game. He’s thrown six and two-thirds innings during his rehab assignment and has yet to surrender a run.
The post-playing career of longtime NBA guard Jeff Teague has been nothing short of spectacular if you’ve happened to catch any of his podcast/show appearances. The former first-round draft pick who played for five teams in his career, including lengthy stints with the Hawks and Timberwolves, has been an open book, revealing every hilarious story from his playing days.
Most recently, Teague spoke about two young guards in Kings star De’Aaron Fox and Cavaliers playmaker Darius Garland, joking that they made him “retire.
1. With analyst Todd Blackledge now at NBC as part of its new Big Ten package, ESPN had a void to fill with its No. 2 college football booth.
Sports Illustrated has learned that Greg McElroy has been promoted to fill Blackledge’s spot and will work alongside play-by-play man Sean McDonough and sideline reporter Molly McGrath this season on Saturday Night Primetime.
McElroy, who has called games for the past seven seasons, including the past three seasons with Joe Tessitore, has signed a long-term deal with ESPN.

The Atlanta Hawks wing dazzled with his versatile shooting prowess as a rookie, but that’s not the only intriguing parts of his game.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday morning that the Atlanta Hawks remain the foremost suitor for the Toronto Raptors’ forward Pascal Siakam, offering a package built upon De’Andre Hunter, AJ Griffin and draft capital.
Siakam is very good. He’s a two-time All-Star and All-NBA honoree who’s proven to contribute to winning at the highest level and yet to turn 30.
