A former football staffer at an unknown Big Ten school revealed Monday that he was employed to steal signs and put together a spreadsheet of Michigan’s play-calling signals used in the 2022 season with information provided by other conference programs, according to the Associated Press.
The employee, who chose to remain anonymous in fear of jeopardizing his coaching career, shared documents with the Wolverines’ program last week that included pictures of Michigan’s signs and plays, as well as screenshots of text messages between employees at other Big Ten programs.

Actor Samuel L. Jackson apparently wants a second career as a sports analyst. Jackson hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to criticize the Colorado Buffaloes after a loss to Oregon State on Saturday. On Sunday, he moved on to the NFL and suggested the Los Angeles Rams think about firing head coach Sean McVay.

Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton revealed that prior to entering the league, Carolina signal-caller Jimmy Clausen tried to charge him one million dollars for his jersey number during an interview with “2Cool2Blog.”
When the Panthers drafted Newton No. 1 overall in the 2011 NFL draft, Clausen was wearing Newton’s desired No. 2 jersey.
Knowing that the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner desired that number, Clausen wanted Newton to pay up for the number he wore at Auburn. While paying for jersey numbers is not an unheard-of practice, the amount Clausen was demanding was.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo has been rewarded for the team’s successful 2023 season. Following Arizona’s run to the World Series, Lovullo has reportedly received a contract extension from the organization.
According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, Lovullo will see two new years tacked onto his contract, which will now run through the 2026 season. 
Lovullo had previously been awarded a one-year extension in June, extending his deal through the 2024 season. General manager Mike Hazen told Lovullo then that they’d revisit his contract at the end of the season.
