Hornets rookie and 2023 No. 2 pick Brandon Miller has gotten off to a slow start during the NBA Summer League. Two games into his Summer League career, and Miller has left plenty to desire with his play on the court.
In particular, fouls have plagued Miller early on. The former Alabama standout has racked up 15 personal fouls in just two games, something only allowable due to the Summer League’s rules. In those two games, he has 24 points, nine rebounds, 10 assists and 10 turnovers. He totaled just six points on four shots during Wednesday’s loss against the Warriors.

Any attempt will be seen as ‘poking the bear,’ which umpires and Washington Nationals did on Wednesday before he shut them up.
In the third inning of the Reds and Nats game, Washington manager Dave Martinez and the umps interrupted De La Cruz’s at-bat after noticing a small cover on the knob of his baseball bat.
The cover was designed for a swing tracker, but the umps asked De La Cruz to remove the piece despite contacting MLB to verify permission for the bat cover.

One bad throw led to a 10-minute delay and frightened crowd at Yankee Stadium during the Bombers’ matchup against the Baltimore Orioles. A Yankees cameraman was struck in the head after Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson overthrew the ball to first.

Manny Machado signed an extension, Xander Bogaerts got a massive contract and the team added Matt Carpenter and Nelson Cruz.
Fernando Tatis Jr. was expected back from a PED suspension early in the season. And 2022 deadline acquisitions Josh Hader and Juan Soto brought excitement in San Diego to a fever pitch.
Yet more than halfway through the season, the Padres are essentially buried.
