Browns standout defensive end Myles Garrett doesn’t believe Minkah Fitzpatrick’s hit on teammate Nick Chubb was dirty or illegal.
While speaking with reporters on Friday, the four-time Pro Bowl lineman addressed the tackle which resulted in Chubb being lost for the season with a brutal knee injury. Chubb was tackled low by Fitzpatrick in the second quarter of the Browns-Steelers game on Monday night.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com shared a video clip Friday on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, showing Garrett’s defense of Fitzpatrick.

The New England Patriots take on the New York Jets Sunday in a rivalry that — up to this point — has been pretty one sided. In fact, if you ask former Pats receiver Julian Edelman, playing against Gang Green was a pleasure.
Now an analyst on Fox NFL Kickoff, Edelman appeared on FS1’s The Herd Friday and teased co-host Jason McIntyre about his Jets fandom.

Come for @Edelman11 stories. Stay for him throwing shade at @jasonrmcintyre pic.twitter.com/zgsMoI3O2y

“I’m a Jets fan too,” Edelman said.

Season-ending injuries are always a tough break, but for Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs it was made even worse by the fact that it forced him to miss his birthday festivities.
Diggs suffered a torn ACL while participating in a non-contact one-on-one drill in practice on Thursday.
Obviously, that’s a terrible stroke of luck for Diggs and a massive blow to Dallas’ defense.
Surely, that and that alone would have been a day-ruining thing to have happen, but it got even worse for Diggs.

It turns out that being the hottest sports story in the country doesn’t protect you from the wrath of the parking police.
The day before No. 19 Colorado’s hotly anticipated duel at No. 10 Oregon, Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders apparently received a parking ticket on his shiny white Lamborghini.
Sanders’s oldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., took video of the car with the ticket under one of the windshield wiper blades and shared the clip on Instagram.
“Lamborghini Prime. I love to see it,” Sanders Jr. said, zooming in on the Lamborghini insignia on the car’s hood.

Bengals star wideout Ja’Marr Chase said Friday that he although he doesn’t believe injured quarterback Joe Burrow will play in Week 3, he has no issues with Burrow sitting out the Monday Night Football showdown.
While speaking with reporters, the two-time Pro Bowler stated he doesn’t believe Burrow will play against the Rams due to the right calf injury he’s been battling since early in training camp. He initially incurred the injury on July 27, and he re-aggravated it in Week 2 against the Ravens.

I remember the 2007 early season matchup between Alabama and Georgia like it was yesterday, with a game coming down to overtime and viewers at home wondering why Britney Spears became a part of the broadcast.
One of the reasons why I remember it so vividly is because I was in the stands during this battle, just a young college student visiting friends in Tuscaloosa. For the folks who weren’t in a packed out Bryant Denny Stadium, ESPN announcer’s Mike Patrick and Todd Blackledge provided the soundtrack to a thrilling game on September 22nd, 2007.

Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll has turned heads as a rookie, slashing .286/.363/.511 with 25 home runs and 73 RBIs for a playoff contender. He was named to the National League All-Star team in July, and his nine triples are tied for the major league lead.
To ESPN analyst and former MLB pitcher David Cone, however, Carroll’s impact on Arizona goes beyond the numbers—and makes him the peer of one of baseball’s most successful young players.
“[Corbin Carroll] reminds me of Derek Jeter in 1996,” Cone said. “By this time of year, he was already a leader in that clubhouse.

Week 3 is here, and we got your Tip Sheet …
• Thursday was a tough day for the Cowboys. Star corner Trevon Diggs went down injured going up for a ball during a 1-on-1 red-zone drill, landing wrong on his knee on Dallas’s grass practice field (and I’m pointing out it was the grass field because I would point out if it had happened on the adjacent turf field). It was described to me as the type of play a player would walk away from 100 times without a second thought.
