Full disclosure: I am a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan. I woke up on Tuesday in anticipation that the team — surprisingly in first place in the NL Central — would make moves to improve the roster at the MLB Trade Deadline.
The Reds have an exciting offense headlined by a bunch of young, hungry kids. Plus, they have a future Hall of Fame first baseman in Joey Votto. They don’t have a problem scoring runs.
They do, however, have issues stopping other teams from. scoring runs.
If the MLB playoffs began today, the Cincinnati Reds would be in.

Braves ace Spencer Strider made MLB history on Tuesday, shattering the record he set himself just last year after recording his 200th strikeout of the season.
Strider entered Tuesday’s game needing just one strikeout for the two-century mark on the season, and he achieved that in the top of the first inning, sitting down Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani for the milestone strikeout.
Last year, Strider became the fastest pitcher in league history to record 200 strikeouts in a single season, doing so in just 130 innings on the mound.
