Pedersen gave Team Europe the boost they needed to gain some Solheim Cup momentum during the afternoon wave of Day 1.
History was made on Friday at the 2023 Solheim Cup as Team Europe’s Emily Pedersen sank the second-ever hole-in-one in tournament history. She made her ace on the par-3 12th at Finca Cortesin’s iconic course in Andalucia, Spain.
Only one other person had made a hole-in-one during the 19 Solheim Cup events. That came 10 years ago when Anna Nordqvist aced the par-3 17th on Day 2 at the Colorado Golf Club.

Plus, the Fighting Irish gear up for the biggest test of the season and CJ Stroud is locked in.
It’s Friday. You know what that means (shoutout Brodie Lee).
We’re back with another installment of Establish the Fun, where fun levels remain at maximum output. We’re almost through the first quarter of both the college and NFL season, and you can start to see some trends picking up league wide. We also are noticing whether some teams are real or not. By this time, there’s been just a bit of attrition and each team has played a semi-competent opponent at least once.
Concerns over Joe Burrow‘s calf injury have led the Bengals to fortify their quarterback depth.
Cincinnati signed Reid Sinnett to its practice squad on Friday, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The San Diego product, 26, has familiarity with the Bengals’ offense after participating in the team’s training camp.
Sinnett hasn’t appeared in an NFL game, but has been on the roster with the Dolphins (twice), Eagles, and Buccaneers. He also spent time with the XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas.

Billy Foster, who now caddies for Matt Fitzpatrick, did not hold back when discussing who the next three Ryder Cup captains should be.
Billy Foster has been embedded within the European Ryder Cup team for almost four decades.
He has caddied for the late, great Seve Ballesteros. He looped for Northern Irishman Darren Clarke for a decade and for Englishman Lee Westwood for a few years as well.
Now, Foster caddies for 2022 U.S.
Go ahead and prepare yourself now for a wild Saturday ahead in college football. There are numerous high-profile games that will set the tone for the remainder of the season. As Colorado heads to Oregon looking to continue gaining ‘believers’, Lane Kiffin is hoping to send Alabama fans into chaos.
But these games might as well be the prelims to what could be one of the most important game of the early season, as Ohio State travels to Notre Dame. The loaded schedule starts with Florida State traveling to Clemson in what might be the most important game of the Tigers schedule.
When Aaron Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles, the Jets were left to figure out how they would handle the quarterback room for the rest of the season. So far, New York has yet to add a quarterback to the team, sticking with Zach Wilson as the starter and Tim Boyle as the backup.
However, that doesn’t mean they haven’t tried to add outside help.
According to Matthew Knaub of the Reading Eagle, the Jets called retired quarterback Chad Henne about joining the team, but Henne told them he is happy in retirement.
“I hung them up for the right reasons,” Henne told Knaub.
This old tweet from Dame on the Miami Heat is hilarious in hindsight.
The year is 2011. The Miami Heat are coming off a humiliating loss in the NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks in the first year of their ‘big three’ with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. The lockout has delayed the start of the new season. Somewhere in Utah, a mid-major guard named Damian Lillard is beginning his senior season, and there’s suddenly a big rush of interest from NBA draft scouts.
Teams often have a day when they “tell the truth” after a tough game. The truth of the matter is the Giants aren’t all that close to being the team they want to be.

Is Brock Purdy the next great QB or is this smoke and mirrors?
Brock Purdy is on fire. The 49ers are 3-0, and the young QB is excelling inside Kyle Shanahan’s system. The second-year quarterback is on pace for over 4,000 passing yards, completing 67 percent of his passes, and has yet to throw an interception. It’s understandable that Niners fans are over the moon.
The league also announced its All-Defensive teams.
