Bottas’ helmet is one of many sleek designs for F1’s marquee event
The Monaco Grand Prix is the marquee event of the Formula 1 season, which often leads to drivers pulling out all the stops both on the track, and off it.
Perhaps the clubhouse leader in the helmet category this week is Valtteri Bottas. The Alfa Romeo driver unveiled his incredible Pac-Man inspired helmet on social media Thursday ahead of the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix:

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes addressed his younger brother Jackson’s arrest for the first time Thursday when speaking to the media at Kansas City’s OTAs.
Jackson Mahomes was arrested earlier this month on charges of aggravated sexual battery in Johnson County, Kans., stemming from an incident at a restaurant in March.
“Honestly, it’s kind of a personal thing that I’m just kind of going to keep to myself,” Patrick said of his brother Jackson’s arrest. “I mean, at the end of the day, I come here to play football and try to take care of my family at the same time.

Wake Forest Women’s golf team made history as they captured their first team national championship, edging out USC.
After a grueling week at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., only one golf team was left standing. There is a new women’s golf NCAA champion as Wake Forest edged out USC to capture their first-ever national title. Their men’s golf program isn’t the only national title holder anymore, as these ladies add their names to the Demon Deacons’ golf legacy.

Since the NFL announced it was adopting a new kickoff rule that would enable kick returners to call a fair catch and have the ball placed at the 25-yard line, the response from many throughout the wider football world has been largely negative. 
Adding to those who can now be counted among the detractors? The Kelce brothers.
Travis and Jason Kelce addressed the issue on their podcast, New Heights, on Thursday, when each teed off on the new rule and decried the league for mitigating what they view as one of the most exciting plays in the game.

The NBA’s flopping crackdown might finally be happening, with a new rule possibly being tested in summer league.
Flopping has been one of the most discussed on-court problems in the NBA over the last decade, but it hasn’t been easy for the officials to enforce. The difference between a block (a defensive foul) and a charge (an offensive foul) is already often minuscule and open to interpretation.

Dave Portnoy‘s contract with Barstool Sports expires in January 2025. And he’s unsure if he will re-sign.
“My contract’s done in 20 months,” Portnoy told podcast host Kirk Minihane. “There’s been some talk about it … who knows what [Penn is] thinking at this point.”
Penn Entertainment, the parent company of Barstool, finalized an acquisition of the brand earlier this year for a total of $551 million.
This month, Portnoy publicly objected to Penn’s decision to fire Ben Mintz for singing the n-word during a live podcast.

The Formula 1 world has its sights set on the series’ most iconic race: the Monaco Grand Prix. Everyone wants to win at Monaco, and while he sounds to be tempering expectations, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso knows this is perhaps his best chance to take a Grand Prix win this season.
Monaco is one of the most incredible settings for any race on the planet. Perhaps for any sporting event. But ask any F1 fan and they’ll probably tell you it’s probably the most boring race on the calendar. Due to the circuit’s tight twisty nature, overtaking is extremely difficult.

Gilbert Arenas delivered some advice for Grizzlies star Ja Morant during an appearance this week on JJ Redick’s podcast, The Old Man and the Three.
Morant is currently suspended from Memphis after a second incident of him flashing a handgun on Instagram Live. Many have used Arenas as a cautionary tale for Morant given the former Wizards star’s gun incidents that caused him to miss most of the 2009–10 NBA season. Given the current circumstances, Redick used the opportunity to ask Arenas what his message would be to Morant.

The Las Vegas Raiders signed Jimmy Garoppolo on March 17, 2023.
That date is important because he was supposed to sign on March 16. According to The Athletic, the Raiders discovered that Garoppolo’s foot injury — that he suffered as a member of the San Francisco 49ers — required surgery.
The initial expectation was that Garoppolo did not need surgery and even had a chance to return for San Francisco if they reached the Super Bowl.
