Campbell University has the most unique mascot in college sports and it just got a face lift!
Although there may be weirder, or cooler mascots in college sports, they all have some sort of correlation to the school or may not be the actual mascot. Western Kentucky, Delta State and Stanford are good examples.

Western Kentucky is the Hilltoppers, because the campus sits on top of a hill. Its sideline mascot, Big Red, is amazing.

Her most recent undertaking is two-fold, but each portion of her cause correlates with the other.

Australian rules football player Heather Anderson has become the first professional female athlete to be diagnosed with CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy).
Anderson was a member of the Australian Football League Women’s 2017 Adelaide team before she retired later that year. Sadly, she took her life last year at the age of 28. Her family donated her brain to the Australian Sports Brain Bank where researchers have now concluded that she had been suffering from CTE.

Former Australian rules football player Heather Anderson was diagnosed with traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), making her the first known professional female athlete to be diagnosed with the brain disease, researchers said in a paper published Tuesday. 
Anderson died by suicide in November. She was 28. Her family donated her brain to the Australian Sports Brain Bank (ASBB) where researchers discovered lesions consistent with low-stage CTE.
