The Lions announced the release of wide receiver Stanley Berryhill on Tuesday afternoon.
Berryhill was one of Detroit’s players whom the NFL suspended last month for gambling in the team facility. Berryhill was initially given a six-game suspension, because he placed bets on non-NFL games while in the Lions facility.
Last season, Berryhill played his rookie season with the Lions after going undrafted out of Arizona. He played in four games and did not record a catch, instead primarily playing on special teams.

“My motivation,” then-Cavaliers forward LeBron James told SI in the summer of 2016, “is this ghost I’m chasing. The ghost played in Chicago.”
Since that summer, James has inched closer and closer to matching Hall of Fame guard Michael Jordan’s legacy. He passed Jordan’s all-time point total in March 2019, and passed every NBA player in history’s point total on Feb. 7. In ’20, James steered the Lakers to an NBA title, his fourth.

Kirk Herbstreit knows a thing or two about college football. Not only did he play the sport himself, he covers the sport for a living, and his four sons all played (or will play) on the Division-I level.
To call Kirk Herbstreit a “college football expert” might be understated, if that’s possible.
Thus, there are few people better suited to mentor the next generation. And that’s what Herbstreit will do in Nashville at the end of the month.
He will be one of the many big-name speakers at the On3 NIL Elite Series, presented by Mizuno.

The USGA’s recent rule change regarding qualification status for the US Open may not affect Phil Mickelson, at least not this year, but that doesn’t mean he’s pleased with the governing body’s recent decision.
The six-time major winner isn’t one to shy away from a little confrontation, especially on Twitter lately, and decided to call out the USGA and its CEO, Mike Whan. Mickelson isn’t happy that the recent rule change has pushed fellow LIV golfer Talor Gooch to the outside looking in.

One of Lakers guard Austin Reaves’s Facebook posts from 2012 about current teammate LeBron James came back to haunt him recently.
When Reaves was 13, he posted a picture of Kobe Bryant with the words, “When I need some peace and quiet I set my phone to LeBron mode, no ring.”
The post resurfaced now that the guard is teammates with James, so Reaves knew he had to clear the air quickly with the NBA legend.
“I called Bron over and was like, ‘Look, I was s—-ing on you back in 2012. I was a Kobe fan,’” Reaves said, via Fox Sports. “[James] just laughed it off.

All season long at Sports Illustrated, I have been picking on Patrick Corbin because whenever he is pitching, games tend to hit the over for their run total. It’s a bet I am locking and loading again today, and I am also applying it to my DFS lineup. Oddsmakers have the run total for tonight’s Nationals-Giants game listed at 8.5, but I am expecting plenty more.
To begin with, let’s focus on Corbin himself. Corbin has been shaky to start the season. His ERA is 5.17 with an xERA of 5.82, and his expected SLG is in the bottom 14% of the league.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is an elite athlete. Obviously, he dominates on the football field. He’s arguably one of the two or three best quarterbacks in the world. He happens to be a very good golfer, too.
Now, he’s showing off his baseball skills. Well, softball, really. Allen appeared in a charity softball event held at Sahlen Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons — the Triple-A affiliate for the Toronto Blue Jays.
In what appears to be a Home Run Derby, the Buffalo Bills quarterback is seen LAUNCHING balls well beyond the softball fence.
