The college football world is still reeling after last week’s realignment that brought an end to the Pac-12, as reactions continue to pour in from across the sport. That includes those from SEC country, which did not play a direct hand in picking apart the Pac-12 but, as the preeminent league in the sport, certainly bears some responsibility for the game’s current landscape.
Which is partly why, when Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher offered his thoughts on the situation on Sunday, Twitter came back with more than a few jokes at his expense.
There are few things in the world that all Americans can agree on. In this divisive culture, nearly everything turns into an argument. But there’s one phrase that anyone can say and gain near universal agreement: Angel Hernandez is a terrible MLB umpire. On Sunday, he managed to bring together Houston Astros and New York Yankees fans.
That’s quite a difficult task. And perhaps the only man that can pull it off is Angel Hernandez.
While preparing Team USA for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Warriors coach Steve Kerr sat down with Sports Illustrated’s Robin Lundberg and explained why his team “needed” to acquire Chris Paul in a blockbuster trade this offseason.
“Our team last year needed another way to attack and we became a little too one dimensional with Steph [Curry] in high ball screens,” Kerr said. “We needed another playmaker to give us a different look and Chris is, as we know, one of the all-time great pick-and-roll players and he’ll know how to control the tempo.
Murray has joined a team that is grinding its way through culture creation with a player being paid to be a franchise QB by a franchise in the midst of reinvention.
Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase raised eyebrows with his recent comments regarding Joe Burrow‘s calf injury sustained early on in training camp.
Chase indicated that he wants Burrow to sit out Cincinnati’s season opener in order to further rest his calf, and when asked about those remarks on Sunday, the 23-year-old doubled down and clarified his comments.
“Yes,” said Chase when asked if he meant what he said. “I 100% mean that.”
“I just want him to be 100% healthy to play.

Thomas needed to birdie the 18th hole to solidify himself among the Top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings. He came so close to doing so.
Justin Thomas stood before the 18th tee box of Sedgefield Country Club at 11-under par.
He needed one more birdie at the Wyndham Championship to solidify himself among the Top 70 of the FedEx Cup standings.
While the Mets chose to cut bait on 2023, another underachieving big-spender did the opposite.
It took seven years for Davis Schneider to reach the big leagues—and just one weekend for him to be compared to Babe Ruth.
Schneider’s path to The Show was a long and unlikely one. The infielder was a 28th-round selection back in 2017 and didn’t even make it to Double A until ’22. Never considered a top prospect, he spent all of this season at Triple A before finally receiving the call to make his big-league debut on Friday night against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
After struggling to sustain success over the first four years of his NFL career, a former first-round draft pick is getting another shot.
The Vikings are signing wide receiver N’Keal Harry, according to a Sunday afternoon report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Harry, 25, was picked 32nd overall by the Patriots in the 2019 draft out of Arizona State—the first wide receiver drafted by New England in the first round in 23 years. He was a two-time 1,000-yard receiver with the Sun Devils, and he ranks third in school history in both receptions and receiving yards.
