This week we saw some interesting rookie debuts. Most notably, we saw an epic matchup involving two guys named Miller. Both Bryce Miller and Mason Miller impressed, with Mason throwing seven innings of no-hit baseball and Bryce taking a perfect game into the sixth inning. We suggested Mason two weeks ago, and he’s still high on our list. Bryce is listed below as a priority. Both Gavin Stone and Brandon Pfaadt also made their debuts this week — both with disastrous results. I’d avoid both pitchers for now.

LeBron James said the Lakers are not going to let their defensive standards slip.
The Big 12 is looking for alternative ways to bring in new college football fans, along with keeping current fans engaged with their favorite teams. Over the course of the last few days, athletic directors and coaches have been discussing additional content sources with television partners at conference meetings this week in Scottsdale, including the idea of putting microphones on coaches.
A number of schools already do this type of thing in-house. If you’ve been to a college football game recently, you have most likely seen a behind-the-scenes video put on the Jumbotron.
Two USC journalism students traveled to Kansas City to cover the 2023 NFL Draft on the university’s dime and decided to get into some extracurriculars in the form of stealing jerseys.
According to the Los Angels Times, Eric Lambkins II and Jude Ocanas, were at the NFL Draft to cover the event for the student-run news outlet Annenberg Media. The two were spotted on a security camera after 1:00 AM on Friday morning, the day after Thursday’s first round, in the “talent waiting room.
LeBron James and the Lakers came crashing back down to earth Thursday night, losing Game 2 of their second-round series with the Warriors, 127–100.
The Lakers actually led by seven points after the first quarter but then it was all Golden State after that as the defending NBA champions were able run away with the victory and pull even in the series as it shifts to Los Angeles.
James, who finished the game with 23 points in just 28 minutes, took a weird tumble at the end of the second quarter that fans picked up on.
The NBA draft is less than two months away. Much of the focus is at the top of the draft, where teams resorted to mass tanking measures to up their chances of winning the lottery and the chance to select French sensation Victor Wembanyama. But with key milestones in the draft calendar like the NCAA tournament and Portsmouth Invitational already in the books and the NBA draft combine fast approaching, it’s a good time to check in on how I’ve ranked the top prospects in this class.
My friends (not really) at Good Morning Football on the NFL Network did a fun exercise this week in which hosts ranked all the NFL’s starting quarterbacks in tiers.
It was interesting.
And fun.
Even though they got it wrong.
So in the interest of correcting the record where necessary, I present to you OutKick’s NFL quarterback tiers.
Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs runs onto the field before playing against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium on February 12, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.
Looking to set some DFS lineups this weekend? Here are a few players and stacks to consider.
In addition to those listed below, players such as Matt Chapman, Randy Arozarena, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Bo Bichette are always worth spending up on.
Some players that have been value plays lately include Brent Rooker, LaMonte Wade Jr. and Jarren Duran.
Before setting your lineups, always remember to check the weather, and bear in mind that games at Coors, Fenway, Guaranteed Rate Field, Angels Stadium and Great American Ballpark are averaging the most runs per game this season.
What a week it has been! The Red Sox swept the Blue Jays at Fenway with the over hitting on every game of the four game series, Bryce Harper returned successfully to the Phillies lineup, Max Scherzer looks like he may need sticky stuff and Justin Verlander got the Jacob deGrom treatment: he delivered a strong start but got no run support.
Not-so-breaking news: The Mets are still the Mets.
Now, let’s get the weekend started right and have some fun with a bold plus-money bet tonight from SI Sportsbook:
Kansas City Royals/Oakland A’s over 9.5 runs

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has been outspoken about transgender women (biological men) competing against biological female athletes, and she’s not happy with cyclist Austin Killips’ latest stunt.
Killips recently became the first transgender woman to win an official Union Cycliste International (UCI) event at a race in New Mexico. With his win, Killips also won the overall title for the Tour of the Gila five-race event.
