Aaron Rodgers’s move to New York has excited the Jets fan base, as the team has a high level quarterback for the first time in a long time. That excitement has manifested itself in ticket sales, as fans have flocked to secure tickets for the upcoming season.
According to Eric Jackson of Sportico, the Jets have received a 400% increase in season tickets and suite sales compared to last year, when the team was coming off a 4-13 season in 2021 season. Of that number, 250% came in between Rodgers’s appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in March and the official trade announcement last week.

The San Francisco Giants announced Tuesday that they have released catcher Gary Sánchez after the former All-Star requested to exercise the May 1 opt-out of his minor league deal with the club.
Sánchez, who signed a minor-league deal with the Giants on March 31, failed to earn a call up to the team’s major league roster after batting a dismal .164 with no home runs, eight RBIs and 19 strikeouts in 16 games at Triple A Sacramento.
The contract allowed the former Yankees All-Star to opt out of the deal if he wasn’t promoted to the major league roster by May 1.

A member of the New Jersey Devils “Woo Crew” was on the receiving end of a nasty sucker punch from an angry New York Rangers fan.
It happened during Monday night’s Game 7 between the two teams. It was a heated series seeing as the teams are separated by about 14 miles and the Hudson River. The seven-game series went the distance, only for the Blueshirts to not show up in the deciding game which the Devils won 4-0.
One Rangers fan appeared to be unhappy with some combination of his team’s performance and the brave men and women encouraging Devils fans to woo after a goal.

Bo Nix has settled in at Oregon, ready for a better outcome in his final year with the Ducks. The senior quarterback was getting Heisman buzz for a time last season before he got injured and the Ducks derailed. Nix is among a large group of experienced returning quarterbacks in the Pac-12, joining Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams of USC, Washington’s Michael Penix Jr., Washington State’s Cameron Ward and Arizona’s Jayden de Laura.

The United States is on track to open a new embassy in Tonga this month, the top U.S. diplomat for East Asia said on Tuesday, part of efforts to step up its diplomatic presence in the Pacific region to counter China. Daniel Kritenbrink told a subcommittee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that the United States was also continuing to engage with Vanuatu and Kiribati about opening proposed new embassies in those countries.
