College basketball fans were glued to their televisions during the Women’s Final Four. Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and LSU’s Angel Reese captivated an audience, along with South Carolina, all while UConn coach Geno Auriemma sat at home watching.
Heading into the 2023 season, Auriemma is not looking for the media to prop up his basketball team with words of encouragement. As we’ve all seen in athletics, when one team fails the previous year, some want to put different titles on what they think the next year’s team motto should be.

Former Yankees and Padres legend Dave Winfield made an eye-opening comparison between himself and Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani.
The 71-year-old boldly stated that he could have been a two-way star during his major league playing career, indicating he could have been doing “back then” what Ohtani is doing today.
In a recent interview with Kirk Kenney of The San Diego Union-Tribune, Winfield said, “Shohei Ohtani is doing today what I was doing back then. The teams didn’t have the foresight or the vision or the inspiration then.
Ole Miss football did not wear the same uniform twice during the 2023 season. The Rebels rocked a different helmet/jersey/pants combination for all 12 regular season games.

Although there is a debate to be had about which uniform combination was the best, there is no debate as to which combination was the flashiest or most unique. Ole Miss partnered with RealTree Camo to roll out WAV3 helmets back in late September.
Shannon Sharpe hasn’t been without a gig for very long, and it sounds like suitors may already be lining up.
It’s no surprise that the Hall of Famer would be in demand when it was announced he was leaving FS1’s Skip and Shannon: Undisputed.
According to Front Office Sports, Sharpe is already in talks with one of those possible landing spots: FanDuel.
The sportsbook’s media operation lost its biggest star when Pat McAfee decided to walk away from his deal and sign with ESPN. Sharpe would be a suitable big-name replacement.
Ex-Jackass star Bam Margera is on the path to recovery for the right reason: healing a relationship with his son.
Margera, who’s been in and out of detainment for the past several years, is doing positive work under the care of former Lakers forward Lamar Odom.

Odom visited Margera, 43, after Los Angeles officials placed him on a 5150 psychiatric hold in early June.
Drew Brees hasn’t put on a Saints helmet in a few years but he’s still the King of New Orleans, or at the least King of a Mardi Gras ball.
Senator John Neely Kennedy is the chairman of the 75th Washington Mardi Gras. He announced that the King of the 2024 Ball will be the former Saints signal caller.
“Washington Mardi Gras has always been a celebration of Louisiana’s unmatched spirit and strength. Louisiana is the most interesting state in America and should never be reluctant to remind the world of our value and our values,” Kennedy said, per L’Observateur.
It has been 25 years since MLB added teams, but with the Athletics expected to move to Las Vegas, the idea of expansion is back in the conversation. While Las Vegas appears to be off the table as an expansion candidate, there are other cities without a major league team that could be an option if MLB does decide to expand.
In an anonymous player survey conducted by The Athletic, one of the questions posed regarded the best cities for expansion.
Be gone, side piece! New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson must have friends at Twitter HQ. As of Tuesday afternoon, pornstar Moriah Mills’ account has been suspended by the social media platform.
Rather than having to insert ‘Moriah Mills’ into your search engine, here’s the proof:
For the uninformed or pure of heart, Williamson has endured a controversial back-and-forth with Mills after the pornstar came out alleging cheating allegations after Zion announced the expectancy of his first child with girlfriend Ahkeema on June 6.
A coach at any level has to know the essentials: teach, lead and argue calls. Not even a live interview stopped TCU baseball coach Kirk Saarloos from doing just that on Tuesday. While the Horned Frogs coach was in the dugout during his team’s College World Series matchup with Oral Roberts, duty called.
Saarloos was in the middle of an interview with the ESPN broadcast team in the top of the fifth inning when he could have sworn that he witnessed a missed balk. Without skipping a beat, he told the broadcast team, “Hey, I’ll be right back guys. Let me dunk ’em.
Shohei Ohtani’s future with the Angels is a hot topic within MLB circles.
The 28-year-old two-way star, who will become an unrestricted free agent after this season, could end up suiting up for a new team in 2024, on what would likely be a record-setting contract.
Ahead of his impending free agency, The Athletic polled MLB players from 22 different teams, asking them where they think Ohtani will be playing in 2024.
There was a runaway favorite among the polled players, with more than 57% of the field indicating that the Dodgers are Ohtani’s most likely landing spot.
