1. The Warriors held a 99–96 lead against the Lakers on Monday night with under three minutes remaining in the game. Golden State couldn’t close out, though, and lost Game 4 of the series, 104–101.
The late collapse by the Warriors was just too much for ESPN’s Brian Windhorst to take. On Tuesday’s Get Up, the NBA insider couldn’t help but express how frustrated he was by Golden State’s ineptness in the closing minutes.
“This was brain death,” a despondent Windhorst said of the Warriors’ execution issues.

Watching Jim Irsay try to kick up the dust on a tampering investigation against the Commanders for allegedly, possibly, contacting Andrew Luck to see whether he’d unretire before the franchise signed Carson Wentz is really the second-funniest NFL story of the year.
The funniest NFL story of the year is the thought that Luck would have unretired after years of physical and emotional pain, organizational mismanagement and self-doubt to play for *comedic pause* Daniel Snyder and the Washington Commanders.
When the Detroit Lions made their 2023 offseason plans, they wanted to add a quarterback to compete with Jared Goff, and the plan seemed to come together when the club selected Hendon Hooker in the NFL draft.
But while Hooker is indeed on the unofficial quarterback depth chart, perhaps as high as No. 2 ahead of Nate Sudfeld and Adrian Martinez, he’s not really going to compete or challenge Goff this season.

The Milwaukee Brewers have announced that they will no longer extend alcohol sales after the 7th inning.
And no, it’s not because they are serving Bud Light and no one’s buying it.
Instead, they say it’s just not worth it.
“We’ve got two homestands under our belts and there have not been any serious issues with general behavior related to the extended sales,” a Brewers spokesman told MLB.com. “But what we’ve found is that the amount of time we’ve extended it by averages it out to 15 minutes extra.
LSU women’s basketball is the overwhelming favorite to repeat as national champions during the 2023/24 season. Kim Mulkey and the Tigers lost three starters to graduation, but rebuilt and reloaded in a big way.
Not only did LSU land the No. 1 recruiting class in 2023, it added the two most sought-after transfers through the portal. It feels not unlike the college version of the Golden State Warriors’ super team, when Kevin Durant joined Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
Hunter Palmer, an 18-year-old high school sports standout, reportedly died after collapsing during track practice on May 5.
The Lincoln Journal Star noted that the temperatures were in the 80s the day he passed away.
Palmer was a student at Wisner-Pilger High School in Nebraska and on top of running track, he played basketball and was an all-district running back. He was committed to play football at Midland University in Fremont, NE.
Fantasy baseball analyst Scott Pianowski kicks off his in-season Shuffle Up series by gauging how the catcher position stacks up.
The Celtics are still a big favorite to win the NBA championship.
A four-year rivalry will be reborn Wednesday on Dynamite, as a former New Japan Pro-Wrestling icon locks up in a steel cage against someone who was once a major superstar in WWE.
The beauty of AEW will be on full display as Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley trade blows, fighting for supremacy in the next chapter of the promotion’s signature feud.
The two share ideologies with many of the same core tenets, but Omega and Moxley are two exceptionally distinct performers.
The Heat beat the Knicks 109–101 in Miami on Monday night to take a 3–1 series lead.
The moral of the story on Monday night was the same that has plagued the Knicks throughout the series; when it came time to close the game, New York could not get enough stops to hold Miami at bay.
Instead of making peace with the obvious coming out of Game 4, ESPN’s Mike Greenberg went a different route when discussing the Knicks’ struggles that have put them on the cusp of elimination.
