USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who won the Heisman Trophy last season and is the favorite to do so again this fall, is the odds-on favorite to hear his name called first at the draft in Detroit a year from now. At -550, Williams is well ahead of North Carolina signal-caller Drake Maye, who has the second-best odds at +600.

Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres is on a nice little hot streak. Over his last five games (starting last Saturday), Torres is batting .350 with two home runs and three RBIs. In Wednesday’s 12–6 win over the Twins, he went 2-for-5 with a homer and a double. And for some reason, one Yankees doubted that he could replicate that performance. 
“If Gleyber Torres homers tonight, I’ll get a bowl cut,” a Twitter user named Jakob posted before New York’s game against the Rangers on Thursday night.

After months of showing interest, it sounds like actor Ryan Reynolds is closing in on buying the Ottawa Senators.
According to Bruce Garrioch of The Ottawa Sun, Reynolds is joining Chris Bratty of Markham, Ontario-based real estate developer the Remington Group in a bid for the team. League sources told The Ottawa Sun that the Reynolds/Bratty group will offer more than $1 billion (USD) for the team. That sale would also include the Senators’ current arena, Canadian Tire Centre.
The firm hired by the family of late Senators owner Eugene Melnyk, has set a May 15 deadline for bids.
