Emma Raducanu is through to her first-ever WTA 1000 quarter-final at the Miami Open, the second half of the famous ‘Sunshine Double’.
The British No 2 has dispatched two Americans and two seeds – eighth seed Emma Navarro in the second round and 17th seed Amanda Anisimova in the last-16 – en route to her quarter-final.
Up next is another seeded American, fourth seed and world No 4 Jessica Pegula, twice a semi-finalist in Florida.

The first Par 3 Contest was held at the Augusta National Golf Club in 1960 and since then, there have been 62 playings of the popular event on the Wednesday ahead of the Masters Tournament.
The contest was played uninterrupted for the first 57 years until 2017 when weather forced the cancellation of it. There were two more cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are 15 golfers who have won both the Par 3 Contest and the Masters but, famously, no one has ever won the Par 3 and then gone on to win the Masters later that same week.

A day after signing with the New York Giants, Russell Wilson explained his expectations for his role.
“I expect to be the starter and come in here and be ready to rock and roll every day,” Wilson said Tuesday on a Zoom news conference. “To be able to lead – I think this team’s really looking for somebody to lead them in every way.”
Wilson joins a Giants quarterback room that already has 2015 first overall pick Jameis Winston and undrafted quarterback Tommy DeVito, who has started eight games for the Giants over the last two seasons.

2027 ATH Travis Miles committed to Syracuse, he announced on social media.
The Hillsdale (NJ) High prospect selects the Orange over an offer from Pitt.
“I love the Cuse,” Miles said to The Juice Online. “It’s great coaching and great people.”
He received his Syracuse offer in January and visited over the weekend for spring practice.
He enters Syracuse as a defensive back after playing both sides of the ball in high school.

The New Orleans Saints had a tough 2024 season, there’s no way around it. A 5-12 record and injuries to boot made things miserable to watch for the fanbase, and the injury problem has been one that has stuck around for multiple seasons now. With a complete staff restructure including some of the medical staff, maybe things turn around on that front for 2025 and conditioning will improve.

Ex-Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals running back LeShon Johnson is at the center of what’s been called one of the biggest dog-fighting busts, and the former NFL player faces serious trouble after being indicted.
Johnson, 54, seemingly took no warning signs from the fallout of Mike Vick’s infamous dog-fighting scandal and participated in a major dog-fighting ring spanning two decades.
Making matters grim, an estimated 190 pit bulls were seized as part of Johnson’s operation. He has since been indicted on 21 charges.

The mental gymnastics that some Democrats perform to convince themselves that transgender-identifying male athletes belong in women’s sports is quite astounding.
But we have perhaps the most outlandish claim from an elected official, and this one comes from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. State Senator Lindsey Williams, in a debate about a bill to protect women’s sports from males, said that “female bodies are just as strong and fast and capable as male bodies.” 
She wasn’t done, though.

The race mob is coming for ESPN reporter and potential OutKick Woke All-Star Holly Rowe for saying the “community” around USC guard JuJu Watkins reminds her of the BET Awards.
“She is a cultural icon here in L.A.,” Rowe said about Watkins during a broadcast of the NCAA Tournament over the weekend. “I was at a game here last year, and I thought I was at the BET Awards. It was like every star in that community was there.”
The broadcasters on the call awkwardly giggled at Rowe’s remarks, trying to draw any more attention to her comparison.
