With mere days left until the WNBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) extension with the players expires, there does not seem to be a resolution coming any time soon. The WNBA’s most recent offer to the Players’ Union leaked last week, and included max salaries around $1 million but lacked the robust revenue-sharing program the players desire.
In an update from ESPN, negotiations will continue over the Thanksgiving holiday and through the weekend in order to try and come to a resolution.
LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) — Chad Baker-Mazara scored 23 points, Jaden Brownell added 16 points, and USC claimed the Maui Invitational championship with an 88-75 victory over Arizona State on Wednesday.
Baker-Mazara won the tournament championship for the second straight year after scoring 14 points in Auburn’s 90-76 victory over Memphis last season. Baker-Mazara finished 9 of 16 from the field against Arizona State with four 3-pointers.
USC took the first double-digit lead of the game at 77-66 with 5:14 remaining on a basket by Ezra Ausar.

For the second consecutive day, star wide receiver DeVonta Smith popped up on the Philadelphia Eagles injury report as a player who did not practice.
The team held only held a walkthrough on Tuesday, so the injury report was just an estimation, but Smith was listed as out due to a chest/shoulder injury.

A Hall County judge listened to Gainesville (Ga.) case for an injunction on Wednesday afternoon and has ruled in favor of the Red Elephants, according to a report.
Superior Court judge Clint Bearden has granted Gainesville its request for an injunction against the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), with the result meaning the Red Elephants will have their full compliment of players on Friday night in a Class 5A state quarterfinal against Langston Hughes.
Cornerback Derion Kendrick is heading back to where he started his NFL career.
Kendrick’s agents announced that their client has been claimed off of waivers by the Rams. Kendrick was waived by the Seahawks this week.
Kendrick was a 2022 sixth-round pick in Los Angeles and started 18 of the 32 regular season games he played over his first two seasons. He missed the 2024 season with a torn ACL and joined the Seahawks after being cut this summer.
Kendrick had seven tackles, two interceptions and five passes defensed in 10 games for the Seahawks.
