The North Carolina Tar Heels have had their fair share of struggles on the basketball court over the past few seasons. Aside from a run to the national championship a few years ago, UNC has missed the tournament in 2023 and would have in 2020 if there had been one.
But the 2025-26 season is around the corner and the Tar Heels are hoping to change their luck as Hubert Davis has reshaped the roster following a first-round exit a year ago. However, one former player continued to criticize the program.

Ben Whittaker will make his biggest jump yet toward a world title shot on Nov. 29.
Whittaker is set to face Germany’s Benjamin Gavazi for the WBC silver light heavyweight title at The NEC in Birmingham, England. The fight marks Whittaker’s debut for Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing after signing a long-term promotional deal with the company earlier this month.
Whittaker (9-0-1, 6 KOs) is the WBC’s No. 9-ranked light heavyweight.
AlabamaWR Bubba Hampton intends to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. This comes on Tuesday morning per reporting by On3’s Pete Nakos.
Per Nakos, this is a mutually agreed upon decision by the redshirt freshman receiver and the Crimson Tide. He will finish out the semester in Tuscaloosa before entering the portal in January.

Official | Borussia Mönchengladbach appoint Rouven Schröder new sporting director
Rouven Schröder’s reported on appointment as new Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director has been officially confirmed. The 49-year-old returns to the Bundesliga after 10 months spent working as the managing director of RB Salzburg. Schröder was sent to Salzburg by RB Leipzig four months after former VfL Wolfsburg administrator Marcel Schäfer was appointed Leipzig’s chief sporting executive.
The Broncos made a move to bolster their special teams this week.
Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football had the first report that they are signing safety J.T. Gray off of the Ravens’ practice squad. The move reunites Gray with Broncos head coach Sean Payton and special teams coach Darren Rizzi.
Gray played for the two men when they held the same jobs with the Saints. Gray was a member of the NFC South team from 2018 to 2024 and developed into one of the league’s top special teams players during his time in New Orleans.
