The natural reaction is to think the Baltimore Ravens are pretty much done this season. They lost again on Sunday, are 1-5, and the history of teams with that record recovering is terrible. But don’t tell John Harbaugh that.
He sees light as he continues to grope in the darkness.
He sees better days after the bye.
And, believe it or not, it’s not a completely crazy notion.
“The players we have, we’re going to have healthy players coming back,” Harbaugh told reporters after Sunday’s 17-3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Travis Hunter’s pregame routine looked a bit different this Sunday as the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ rookie made an additional stop en route to the stadium to get baptized ahead of his team’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
With the kickoff in Jacksonville set for 1:00 local time, Hunter wasn’t exactly left with an abundance of time to make it to a church service on Sunday morning, let alone make a major personal decision such as being baptized, but the former Heisman Trophy winner made it happen and looked absolutely thrilled after the fact.
Losing to a winless UCLA team started the speculation.
Losing the next week to an unranked Northwestern team ended it.
Penn State parted ways with head coach James Franklin the day after the Nittany Lions lost their second straight game despite entering the contest as at least a 25-point favorite. After losing to UCLA two weeks ago — a team that had not even led at any point this season before that game — Penn State lost to Northwestern at home to drop to 3-3 overall, and 0-3 in the Big Ten.
The San Francisco 49ers have been stung by the injury bug for the second year in a row, and it’s only getting worse.
49ers superstar linebacker Fred Warner suffered a serious ankle injury in the first quarter of the team’s Week 6 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Warner’s leg was rolled up on as the defense brought down Tampa Bay’s running back Rachaad White. You can watch the play here.
Warner has been ruled out for the game. He had an air cast placed on his leg, and he was carted off the field. The speculation is that Warner could have dislocated or fractured his ankle.

Penn State just sent shock waves through the college football world by axing head coach James Franklin after over a decade of service.
If this comes as a surprise to you, you probably haven’t been paying attention.
Yes, Franklin led the Nittany Lions to the College Football Playoff semifinals just last year, but his team sits at just 3-3 this season with embarrassing losses to Northwestern and UCLA on his ledger, and his glaring 4-21 record against AP top-ten teams was something that was never going to change.

Green Bay Packers backup kicker Lucas Havrisik made his first field-goal attempt, a 43-yarder, to give his team a 3-0 lead in an NFL Week 6 game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Lambeau Field.
The Packers signed Havrisik Oct. 11. He last kicked in an NFL regular-season game for the Los Angeles Rams in 2023.
Starting kicker Brandon McManus was inactive. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said McManus suffered a right quad injury during practice Oct. 8. He had been listed as questionable on the team’s injury report.
McManus was at practice Oct. 9 without a helmet, and did not kick.
The San Francisco 49ers suffered what appears to be another major injury blow on Sunday, this time to All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner
Warner got rolled up from behind while chasing down a run play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His ankle twisted in an awkward direction, and he immediately clutched his lower leg in pain.
Trainers tended to Warner on the field and placed his injured lower leg into an air cast. He left the game on the back of the cart, and the 49ers quickly ruled him out for the rest of the game.
