It is Wednesday of Ryder Cup week and somehow the golf is still so far away. Such is life with these big events.
While two sleeps separate us until then soon enough balls will be in the air. Foursomes will get going and we will be off and running towards determining whether an away team can win one of these things for the first time in forever.
In no way am I trying to fast forward through the foursomes and four-ball action, but when it comes to the Ryder Cup or match play in general we are always interested in who is going to square off against who.

Eagles outside linebacker Nolan Smith Jr. strained his triceps Sunday and now is expected to be sidelined through the team’s Nov. 2 bye, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Panthers didn’t have wide receiver Xavier Legette in last Sunday’s win over the Falcons and two other wideouts joined him as non-participants in practice on Wednesday.
First-round pick Tetairoa McMillan did not practice because of a calf injury and Hunter Renfrow was out for personal reasons. Legette is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales said at his press conference that McMillan and Legette are both day-to-day. Renfrow was missing due to the birth of his child and is expected back on Thursday.

Former Tennessee Titans cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. denied — in a since-deleted social media post — a report that he had a history of causing problems in locker room, one day after he was traded to the New York Jets for a minimal return.
Brownlee was traded on Sept. 23 to the Jets in a move surprising not just that it happened but for the trade compensation — a pick swap, with the Titans trading Brownlee and a 2026 seventh-round pick for the Jets’ 2026 sixth-round pick.
Everybody knows how fantastic Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is when he is right and healthy. There aren’t many in this league who can slow down the big fella when he gets into a groove. It’s why he’s considered one of the dominant players in the league and won an MVP award in 2023.
However, limited by a severe knee injury, Embiid only played in 19 games in the 2024-25 season. He was nowhere near his normal self as he averaged 23.8 points, but shot only 44.4% from the floor, 29.9% from deep, and only got to the foul line 8.9 times.
When it came to former Florida State and NFL running back Karlos Williams‘ roles he held as a coach at Florida’s Liberty County High School, he wore many different hats for the Bulldogs. On Tuesday, the former BCS national championship running back announced he is no longer coaching high school football or track at Liberty County.
According to a social media post on X Tuesday, Williams announced that he will no longer be the defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator or head track & field coach at Liberty County.

Deion Sanders goes by many names. Deion, Prime Time, Neon Deion, Coach Prime… and, I guess that’s about it.
Still, four is more than most of us.
But, believe it or not, his real first name is not Deion, and the way he got his famous first name is just straight up bizarre.
Sanders was a guest on the New Heights podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce when the former asked if it was true that “Deion” is not the name on the Colorado Buffaloes coach’s birth certificate.
“Is it true that your name is actually spelled ‘Dion ’?” Jason asked. “D-I-O-N.
