It’s another jaw-dropping drop.
Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado just joined the Hall of Lame — the club reserved for players who somehow drop the football before crossing the goal line — after his unforgettable “lowlight” on Sunday.
In a banged-up backfield, Demercado was already fighting for carries behind Michael Carter and “Bam” Knight.
In the fourth quarter, with a chance to seal the win against the Titans, he broke free for a 72-yard sprint… only to drop the ball before crossing the plane.
Every time you go to a game, you will see something for the first time.
That idea is attributed to longtime baseball scribe Tim Kurkjian about Major League Baseball, but after this moment from Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans, you can attribute the idea to the NFL as well.
With Tennessee facing a 3rd-and-2 situation just inside the Cardinals’ red zone, rookie quarterback Cam Ward was flushed out of the pocket and to his left. He attempted a throw late in the play that was deflected and intercepted by Arizona safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson.

One week after a player was robbed of a touchdown due to a goal-line drop, it happened again on Sunday. This time, it was Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado, whose touchdown was erased after he let the ball go just before the end zone.
On third-and-one in the fourth quarter, Demercado broke through for what should have been a 72-yard touchdown run. But Demercado made the fatal mistake that others have made before: He let the ball drop from his hands right as he approached the end zone, just barely ahead of the goal line.
The call was a close one.

Turn away, Browns and Jets fans.
Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold squared off in Seattle in a Sunday afternoon thriller. Mayfield ultimately outdueled Darnold as the Bucs secured a 38-35 come-from behind win. Mayfield led the Bucs on a game-tying touchdown drive with 1:08 remaining.
The Philadelphia Eagles either can’t run the ball or won’t run the ball. One of those things alone would be unideal. The combination of the two, however, is the most glaring aspect of their 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos at home Sunday.
Saquon Barkley had the flashy explosive on a go route out of the backfield that resulted in a 47-yard touchdown. However, six carries for the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year reflects poorly upon first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. The Eagles ran it 11 times total.
