For a fifth consecutive season, Northwestern field hockey is headed to the Final Four.
The ‘Cats (20-1, 8-0 B1G) survived a gritty effort from Miami (OH) (16-4, 8-1 MAC), coming out with a 3-2 victory to keep their back-to-back title hopes alive.
Northwestern was led by a goal apiece from Laura Salamanca, Ella Kokinis and Grace Schulze, the latter of whom put up the game-winning tally with 1:40 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Denver Broncos released their list of seven inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain (pec), linebacker Alex Singleton (illness), tight end Nate Adkins (knee), outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (hamstring), offensive tackle Geron Christian, defensive lineman Sai’vion Jones, and defensive lineman Jordan Jackson will not play in Week 11.
This marks the third straight game Surtain has missed.

Scotland “fell asleep at the wheel” in their dramatic capitulation against Argentina, according to captain Sione Tuipulotu.
The Scots led 14-0 at half-time and stretched their advantage to 21 points when hooker Ewan Ashman crashed over for his second try of the game four minutes after the break.
But, 10 minutes later, the game changed on one pass.
Finn Russell’s attempt to go wide was picked off by Rodrigo Isgro, and Blair Kinghorn was sin-binned after Argentina broke into Scotland territory.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed the start of the second half against Cincinnati on Sunday while being evaluated for a left hand injury.
The 41-year-old Rodgers, the NFL’s oldest active player, appeared to be injured during a drive late in the first half. Rodgers was illegally hit twice by the Bengals during the drive, resulting in roughing the passer penalties on Cincinnati both times.
The team listed the four-time MVP’s return as questionable. Rodgers was 9 of 15 for 116 yards with a touchdown at the time of his exit.

I want to pose for you, my dear readers, a hypothetical scenario.
Let’s say you’re coaching a football game, and it’s all tied at 13 with less than two minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Your do-it-all running back just got stuffed on 3rd and goal, and your opponent is out of timeouts and playing with a backup quarterback.
You are hanging out at the 1-yard line with a chance to kick a field goal and take a lead.
I’m sure most of you would take the points in this situation (unless you’re an analytics nerd, but we will discuss that in a bit).
