Monday night’s game between the Mariners and Angels was not the first time that Shohei Ohtani and Ichiro Suzuki came together on the baseball diamond, but it was just as powerful as the first. The former continues to have the utmost respect for the latter, for whom he has long talked about his admiration.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for him. What he has done for this game, our country and the fans. I wish we could have played against him, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Jordan Hawkins and Angel Reese were born just seven days apart, grew up less than an hour from each other, and share the best title in college sports — national champion. Reese and LSU wrapped up its two-loss season with a win over Iowa on Sunday, Hawkins and UConn wrapped up their dominant postseason run with another blowout win over San Diego State on Monday.
Baltimore was well represented in both games. As was their family.
Reese and Hawkins are cousins. They are both from the DMV and the former used to cook the latter on the blacktop as kids.

We all knew going into this Major League Baseball season it would take a little time for players and fans to get used to the new pitch clock that has been put into play for the first time this year. 
We’re not even a full week into the season and we’ve already seen a number of pitch clock violations, including some that have resulted in an automatic third strike. There was a really sad one of those on Monday’s Mets-Brewers game.

Since acquiring All-Star guard Kyrie Irving at the trade deadline, the Mavericks have gone just 9–16 and now find themselves in serious danger of missing the playoffs.
With just three games remaining, Dallas is a full game behind the Thunder for the No. 10 seed, the last spot in the play-in tournament. To make matters worse for Dallas, the Thunder own the tiebreaker over the Mavericks, which means Dallas actually has to make up a two-game deficit in the final three games to reach the playoffs—a near impossible task.
