Social media has been flooded with tributes for WWE star Bray Wyatt (real name Windham Rotunda) following his sudden death. The Rock, Mick Foley, Ric Flair, and wrestling fans around the world have shared heartfelt messages in reaction to the 36-year-old’s passing.
Triple H initially announced the news of Wyatt’s passing without mentioning a cause of death. Later Thursday evening, it was revealed that Wyatt had suffered a heart attack earlier in the day after a battle with COVID earlier in the year exacerbated heart issues he was dealing with.

The thing folks will remember is Anthony Richardson’s “Fly Eagles Fly” celebration after a touchdown. In a game that didn’t count and was kind of forgettable, the Indianapolis Colts rookie delivered a memorable moment.
Richardson flapped his arms — you know, like an Eagle one assumes — in a half-joking, half-mocking gesture in front of the Eagles fans in Philadelphia. And, no, they didn’t approve.
“I was thinking about it before the game,” Richardson said. “Sometimes when you get into the end zone, you just freeze up and don’t know what to do.

We are so back. After months of everything under the sun that isn’t football, we finally get real live action. It’s Week 0, so the slate is not particularly long and the depth of good games will not exactly land on a list of classics, but it’s football and that’s something to celebrate. At Sports Illustrated, we’ll be putting together a weekly tiering system for the slate of games on a given week, so while Week 0’s list is small, we consider it mighty and we’re definitely excited for more to come.

Matt LaFleur knows what he wants, and it has nothing to do with a box score.
LaFleur, 43, is in his fifth year as coach of the Packers. The dominant story this offseason in Green Bay has been first-year starting quarterback Jordan Love, and rightfully so. But the underplayed story is LaFleur, who now faces a season of change and uncertainty.
On this tempered August day in Green Bay, Wis., I’m walking from the practice field to Lambeau Field’s cafeteria with LaFleur between two rows of adoring fans. One fan wants LaFleur to take a selfie with her.

Chuck Smith is a longtime pass-rush guru to NFL stars, a retired sack seeker himself and, as of March, the Ravens’ latest outside linebackers coach. Before he went to Baltimore, he sometimes trained Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones, giving Smith rare and valuable insight into Jones’s ongoing contract saga.
Smith recalls stumbling upon a magazine cover around 2008. He cannot remember the specific issue, but it featured Albert Haynesworth, the mammoth defensive tackle who moved like much smaller men, with nimble feet and elite agility.

Following its worst-ever performance in the Women’s World Cup, the USWNT has fallen from its No. 1 world ranking spot to its lowest ranking in the 20-year history of FIFA’s ranking system.
The U.S. Women’s National Team had held the No. 1 spot since June 2017 amid the team’s back-to-back Women’s World Cup victories, but after being bounced out of the Round of 16 by Sweden, the Americans have fallen to third in the world.

New reporting calls into question Perez’s seat for 2024
Sergio Pérez left the Miami Grand Prix just 14 points behind teammate Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship standings, and with the streets of Monte Carlo next on the schedule, the “King of the Streets” was dreaming of turning the 2023 Formula 1 season into a proper title fight.
Since then, however, the situation has changed. A mistake in qualifying at Monaco saw Pérez fail to advance out of Q1, and he finished the Monaco Grand Prix out of the points.

Want to know who is going to win Super Bowl LVIII?
Just look at the coach and quarterback of every team.
Historically speaking, it’s almost impossible to win the Super Bowl without an elite coach, an elite quarterback and in many cases, both. In the 57 years of the Super Bowl era, 41 championships have been won with signal-callers either already enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, or men not yet eligible but certain to get there. Of those same 57 titles, a coach of said quality has stood on the sideline for 37 of them.

Cleveland Browns QB Kellen Mond had a crazy Thursday with the team.
The franchise originally decided to waive the former Texas A&M star before trading Joshua Dobbs to the Arizona Cardinals.
Following the trade, the Browns had to throw the decision to cut Mond in reverse and decided to keep him on the roster.
It was the highest of highs. It was the lowest of lows for Mond.

After announcing they waived Kellen Mond earlier today, the #Browns have now pulled back that move and plan to keep him on the roster through the preseason, source says.

The Mountain West Conference reportedly is doing its best to land Oregon State and Washington State.
The Beavers and Cougars are fighting to find landing spots after the PAC-12 disintegrated leaving just those two programs and Cal and Stanford.
There’s currently a movement underway to get Cal and Stanford into the ACC. If that happens, WSU and OSU will be isolated and alone with limited options.
