The contentious standoff between Lamar Jackson and the Ravens went up a notch on Wednesday.
At the club’s NFL draft luncheon, General Manager Eric DeCosta did not want to discuss Jackson’s status.
“I think out of just respect for the process, this is a draft luncheon. And we’re going to try to keep as much of this discussion as we can to the draft,” said DeCosta.
However, DeCosta was asked whether the Ravens are taking a different approach in regards to this draft’s available crop of quarterbacks any differently given Jackson’s current situation.

The sharpshooting wing is ending the year superbly to cap off an impressive second season.
Corey Kispert began the 2022-23 NBA season glued to the bench. As the Washington Wizards meandered out to a 4-4 start, Kispert didn’t record a single minute. He finally saw the court in a 42-point loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 4 and missed all 6 of his shots. Two days later, Kispert earned a starting nod. He’s played every game since and only logged fewer than 15 minutes twice.
Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles is thrilled about his opportunity to work with Baker Mayfield as Tampa Bay revamps its roster and prepares for a 2023 NFL season that will not include seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady under center.
When Mayfield signed his one-year deal with the franchise in March, it marked a new start for the former 2017 Heisman Trophy winner. However, it was not his first interaction with Bowles, who spoke with Mayfield at Oklahoma ahead of the ’18 NFL draft.
Most men’s college basketball observers, asked to compile a list of the sport’s blue bloods, would include Kentucky. They might even start the list with the eight-time national champion Wildcats.
Most. But not all.
Count ESPN analyst and former Duke guard Jay Williams, the 2002 Wooden Award winner, among those low on Kentucky as Connecticut’s national championship has sparked a discussion of which programs qualify for the most exclusive club in college hoops.
Fred Riley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters, could throw a lifeline to LIV Golf … or not … with a simple tweak of its qualification criteria.
Three weeks until the draft. Let’s see what you guys had for me …
From OneKumar NFL (@OneKumar_NFL): LJ to the Patriots with Max Jones on the rocks?
From Rizzy (@ImK1utch): What is going on with the Mac Jones situation with Belichick, and what are trade packages for him like?
Mac Jones, you mean, Kumar? Yeah, I still tend to doubt it. But that has more to do with Lamar Jackson’s price than any sort of feeling that Mac is affirmed as the Patriots’ future.
The Green Bay Packers are apparently doing some due diligence on former Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker.
For the first time since the start of the 2008 season, the Packers don’t have a locked in QB1 during the offseason.
Aaron Rodgers wants to be traded to the Jets and the belief is Jordan Love will be QB1 when next season starts. However, none of that is guaranteed. As of this moment, Aaron Rodgers is still very much on Green Bay’s roster.
However, if he does get shipped to the Jets, Love becomes the team’s immediate QB1. However, Green Bay might also have sights set on a former SEC star.

Why aren’t the Falcons trading for Lamar Jackson?
From the moment the Ravens signed QB Lamar Jackson to a non-exclusive franchise tag, many in the public seemed to think that Atlanta was the next destination for the former MVP. Ample receiving targets, a whole lot of cap space, and most importantly, a need at QB.
