LAS VEGAS (AP) — Noah Hanifin scored the go-ahead goal with 1:55 to play and the Vegas Golden Knights went on to a 5-3 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday that clinched their fourth Pacific Division title in the team’s eight-year history.
Brett Howden and Nicolas Roy had a goal and an assist each for the Golden Knights, Alexander Holtz scored on the power play and Ivan Barbashev added an empty-netter.
Adin Hill made 14 saves.

CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Diego Fagúndez scored a goal on Saturday night for LA and the short-handed Galaxy tied the Houston Dynamo 1-1.
LA’s Mathias Jørgensen, known as “Zanka”, was shown a red card for denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity for Ponce in the 28th minute and the Galaxy played a man down the rest of the way.
Christian Ramírez was fouled by José Artur de Lima Júnior and Fagúndez put away the ensuing free kick, tucking a shot under the crossbar and inside the right post from nearly-30 yards out to make it 1-1 in the 57th minute.

OXFORD — Senior pitcher Riley Maddox broke down in a conversation with first-year Ole Miss baseball pitching coach Joel Mangrum before last week. It turned out to be a good thing.
The No. 7 Rebels beat No. 4 Tennessee 8-5 on Saturday, April 12. It evened the series and set up a rubber match for Sunday (2 p.m. CT, SEC Network). Maddox pitched five strong innings, but his outing started poorly. Gavin Kilen, Tennessee’s second batter of the game, hit a home run to right center field.
“Gavin Kilen is a great hitter,” Maddox said.

After LSU baseball lost to Auburn on Friday night, the Tigers took the field on Saturday with the series on the line. LSU took the lead in the first inning but Auburn fought back, winning game two and taking the series.
In the top of the second inning, LSU got on the board when Steven Milam hit a solo shot to put LSU up 1-0. Anthony Eyanson got the start on the mound for the Tigers. He kept Auburn off the board until the bottom of the fourth inning when Auburn scored two runs to take its first lead of the ball game at 2-1.

As music blared out of the home team’s dressing room at Kingsmeadow after Chelsea had just come from behind to defeat Liverpool 2-1 and book their eighth FA Cup final appearance in 13 years, Sonia Bompastor entered the media room and politely closed the door behind her.
The Chelsea manager was shutting out the noise, but can she really escape it? The word ‘quadruple’ is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Last month, Chelsea lifted the League Cup after a 2-1 win over Manchester City, which landed Bompastor her first trophy in England since taking over from Emma Hayes last summer.

Over the course of three rounds, Rodriguez (19-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) proved to be an unsolvable puzzle for debuting Bellator legend Patricio Freire (36-7 MMA, 0-0 UFC) who he defeated by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at Kaseya Center in Miami.
Both fighters were patient in Round 1, but the fight took place at Rodriguez’s ideal distance. “Pitbull” did not open up much, though he seemed relatively comfortable – slapping the areas of his body Rodriguez hit after each strike.
