The F1 team shared audio and video of the MCL38 roaring to life
With the 2024 Formula 1 season now just weeks away, fans are looking ahead to some of their favorite sounds in the world.

McLaren gave those fans a taste of what to expect on Tuesday, sharing both audio and video of the team firing up the MCL38 — their challenger for the 2024 F1 season — for the first time at the team’s factory.

New Ohio State cornerback Caleb Downs said that he received 102 phone calls the day he entered the transfer portal at Alabama earlier this month.
Downs, who was a freshman All-American in his first year of college football, quickly became one of the most sought after transfer prospects in the short history of the portal.
“I got 102 calls in one day –well, not in one day, probably seven or eight hours,” Downs told the media on Monday in Columbus. “Just being able to minimize what my mind was going through, that was a big thing for me to make a sound decision,” he added.

The University of Tennessee is immersed in another NCAA investigation of potential rules violations that is “major” in nature, sources tell Sports Illustrated. The case involves multiple sports and includes scrutiny of name, image and likeness (NIL) benefits for athletes.
The Volunteers were penalized last summer for more than 200 rules infractions in the football program. The NCAA Committee on Infractions declared that the case was “one of the worst the COI has seen,” with 18 Level I violations that included around $60,000 in impermissible inducements and benefits for recruits.

Point guard Darius Garland intends to return Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons from a jaw injury that has kept him out since mid-December, according to a Tuesday morning report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Garland fractured his jaw on Dec. 14 on Dec. 14 during Cleveland’s 116–107 loss to the Boston Celtics.
In 20 games this season, Garland—an All-Star in 2022—is averaging 20.7 points and 5.9 assists per game.

Basketball feels like it’s only been a part-time job for Ben Simmons ever since his infamous meltdown with the Philadelphia 76ers during the second round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs. Tempers flared during the Houston Rockets‘ 135—119 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night at the Toyota Center. As is often the case, Dillon Brooks was right in the middle of things, as the Rockets forward jawed at—and was whistled for a flagrant foul on—Lakers star LeBron James, with whom he has an ongoing feud. 
Brooks even got into it with Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who seemed to take exception to a hard foul from the Rockets forward during the second quarter.
