The Cubs shocked the MLB world on Monday when the team decided to hire former Brewers manager Craig Counsell before officially announcing that David Ross would be let go from the position.
Ross, who spent four seasons as the Cubs’ manager, spoke out on the team’s decision on Thursday to the Tallahassee Democrat. The former MLB catcher expressed some emotions while talking about his departure, but otherwise didn’t sound like he holds too much of a grudge against the organization.

Former Warriors forward Andre Iguodala is expected to be named the new acting executive director of the National Basketball Players Association, the organization announced on Thursday. Tamika Tremaglio, the NBPA’s current director, is stepping down from her role following 22 months in the position.
Iguodala officially retired from the NBA in October after 19 seasons in the league, including over a decade on the NBPA’s Executive Committee. While the forward spent eight seasons with the 76ers, he is most known for his role on the Warriors’ four championship teams since 2014.

Boston Common Golf will have its infant stages captured as the TGL team and NBC Sports are partnering up.
Boston Common Golf Club became the first entire TGL league team to be announced earlier this fall. The club subsequently signed a multi-year partnership with NBC Sports Next’s GolfNow on Thursday.
This deal also includes plans to produce a reality docuseries, which will help the team representing Boston and the New England area gain a national following.
Much has been made about the underwhelming schedule opening men’s college basketball this year. In the season’s first four days, there were a total of only four games between two high-major opponents, and only two of those featured a ranked team. That hasn’t meant an absence of drama: Michigan State going down at the hands of James Madison was a stunner, and the Baylor vs. Auburn showdown on Tuesday was a high-level game between two teams with major upside.
