Texas Rangers love the road, be it baseball or cattle drives.
They can come home to the greater Dallas area now as World Series champions for the first time in franchise history.
The Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-0, Wednesday night in Phoenix to set the Major League Baseball record for most consecutive playoff wins in a season with 11.
Texas lost at Seattle, 1-0, on Oct. 1 to lose the American League West to the Houston Astros.
And they never lost on the road again.

In the span of three innings, the Rangers went from landing on the wrong side of a no-hitter to celebrating their first World Series title.

PHOENIX — Nathan Eovaldi was a World Series legend once before, and he hated it.
Five years before he scraped and clawed through six scoreless innings in a 5–0 Game 5 to deliver the Rangers their first title in their 62-year franchise history, he scraped and clawed through six two-run innings for the Red Sox, who would win that 2018 championship in five games. The game went 18 innings, the longest in the history of the Fall Classic, and Eovaldi’s 97 pitches in relief saved the bullpen. Teammate Rick Porcello wept as he watched it.

Knight was 79 years old then, finally wooed back to Indiana University by his adoring former players.

The Celtics delivered a jaw-dropping defeat to the Pacers on Wednesday night, as the Boston offense put up 155 points on Indiana in a 51-point victory.
Final score: 155-104. 
Fans at the TD Garden were treated to an explosive offensive performance from the Celtics, spearheaded by a 30-point outing from superstar forward Jayson Tatum, who only played 27 minutes.
Eight of the 13 players who saw the floor for Boston had 11 or more points. As for Indiana, T.J. McConnell’s 18 points were the team-high as the Pacers shot an abysmal 13.5% from three-point range.

Legendary college basketball coach Bob Knight died at the age of 83, his family announced on Wednesday.
During Knight’s 42 seasons as a head coach, he influenced many great players who would later on become coaches like him.
One of those players was Mike Krzyzewski, whom Knight coached while at Army, and later brought on as an assistant at Indiana.
The former Duke coach released a statement regarding his former coach shortly after the news dropped.
“We lost one of the greatest coaches in the history of basketball today,” Krzyzewski said, via The Athletic’s Brendan Marks.

A woman is suing former Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler for “causing” extensive injuries to her face after a baseball, thrown by Soler, hit the plaintiff in the face.
The person filing the lawsuit against Soler and the Braves, Mayra Norris, claimed their team’s home stadium, Truist Park, lacked sufficient safety measures to prevent her from getting a shiner. She also filed the lawsuit in Cobb County alongside her husband, alleging that the facial injuries from Soler’s throw caused marital distress.

Mayra Norris attended Game 3 of the 2021 World Series.
