Halloween is a great time to get creative and have fun. Even these PGA Tour stars got in on the spooky action, giving golf fans a laugh.
Halloween brought out the creative juices among PGA Tour players. We all remember when Tiger Woods wore an afro at the 1998 Tour Championship to show his holiday spirit. But in 2023, the pros really brought it.
They truly delivered from hilarious costumes based on viral moments to embarrassing themselves for their children.

Hello, everyone….

Keep Pete Sampras and his family in your thoughts.
John McEnroe does Smartless.
Congrats, tennis lover Jeff Gewirtz.
Here’s the great Kingfish, the Carlos Alcaraz of the blues.

Onward…

Let’s start this week by talking about Cancun. As of Tuesday, the match results have been overtaken by player complaints. This column by Matt Futterman—aside: good for The Athletic for giving tennis the respect it deserves—lays out the context. I have a copy of the letter referenced and the first signatory, as it were, is Aryna Sabalenka.

The Kansas City Chiefs offense was a shell of its normal self this past weekend during a 24-9 loss to the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs not managing to find the end zone at all in Denver speaks for itself as to just how off the team’s offense truly was, and tight end Travis Kelce can’t figure out what’s causing the issues.
“I don’t think I’ve been in a situation where we’ve stalled this much as an offense throughout the year, definitely at this point in the season.

South Carolina coach Shane Beamer can’t escape criticism, even within his own home.
The Gamecocks are currently 2-6. The season has been an unmitigated disaster, and that’s putting it lightly. Expectations were high entering the season, but the Gamecocks have fallen flat on their faces. Is Beamer’s seat getting hot?
It might be but he’s got bigger problems to worry about at the moment:

Shame Beamer’s son drags him for 2-6 record.

After axing coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler early Wednesday morning, the Raiders are reportedly making another substantial organizational change.
Las Vegas is naming rookie Aidan O’Connell its starting quarterback going forward, according to Wednesday morning reports from Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
O’Connell, 25, has thrown one touchdown against two interceptions in two games this season. The Raiders picked him in the fourth round of April’s NFL draft out of Purdue, for which he played four years and threw for 9,219 yards.

NBA fans eager to see James Harden’s debut with the Clippers will have to wait for a few days. Many were likely hoping that Harden would take the floor for Wednesday night’s crosstown matchup with the Lakers.
With the game nationally televised on ESPN, that might have been ideal. But with Harden just joining the Clippers, that probably wasn’t realistic. The guard will instead get some practices in with his new teammates and get acclimated to Tyronn Lue’s offense, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

A significant swath of the country got its first state of winter weather this week, and that included the good people of Toledo, Ohio.
If you thought a little bit of snow and some freezing temperatures would make the University of Toledo pack up its dunk tank for the season, you are sorely mistaken.
The Rockets hosted the Buffalo Bulls for some Tuesday night MACtion. It was a frigid, snowy affair.
