Allow this to be your first look at the playoff picture. Every team’s path is simple no matter how things stack up Tuesday when the initial CFP committee rankings are revealed: Win out, and you’ll be in. College football always surprises, but this is how things look heading into the first rankings. Think of what’s to follow as less of a firm pecking order and more of an outline of playoff buckets identifying the four available spots.
SEC: Georgia and, you guessed it, Alabama seem to be on a collision course.
Week 9 of the college football season provided plenty of excitement, and a handful of upsets to boot.
The most notable upset came courtesy of unranked Kansas, who welcomed No. 6 Oklahoma to town and dispatched the College Football Playoff contenders, 38–33. Elsewhere, No. 17 North Carolina fell to unranked Georgia Tech for its second consecutive loss as a double-digit favorite.
No. 1 Georgia took care of business in emphatic fashion with a 23-point win against rival Florida, while No. 3 Ohio State and No. 5 Washington survived tough road tests to continue their undefeated seasons.

ARLINGTON, Texas — As his team’s first World Series appearance in two decades dawned, Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen found his joy cut with some frustration. So many people seemed to see an 84-win, sixth seed that didn’t deserve to be here. He saw a roster he believed the sport had been begging to watch for some three decades.

In a World Series game where the Diamondbacks‘ offense came roaring to life, Arizona second baseman Ketel Marte etched his name in baseball history.
Marte’s two-run single off Rangers pitcher Martín Pérez in the top of the eighth in Saturday’s Game 2 marked the 18th straight postseason game in which Marte has gotten a hit—the longest streak in MLB history.
Colorado just could not handle the physicality of No. 23 UCLA.
It was a Saturday to forget for some college football juggernauts.
Starting pitcher Merrill Kelly delivered another dominant performance with 9 strikeouts and Arizona’s offense provided more than enough in the 9-1 victory.
Johns Hopkins University found an unusual way to win a game on Saturday, and it was a final play that would’ve been a roller coaster of emotions for fans.
The Blue Jays journeyed up to the Lehigh Valley for a matchup against Muhlenberg College Mules in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
That part of the Keystone State is known for being home to all kinds of stuff. Crayola crayons, Martin acoustic guitars, and everyone’s least favorite Easter candy, Peeps. However, on Saturday it was also home to about as thrilling of an ending to a Division III football game as you will ever see.
