BATON ROUGE, La. – The NCAA’s four-year dragnet of the LSU basketball program and former coach Will Wade’s voluminous recruiting violations – with a side look at the football program – is done.
And LSU got off light.
The NCAA slapped Wade – now the head coach at McNeese State in Lake Charles, La. – with a two-year show cause, according to the NCAA. The NCAA also limited him to on-campus recruiting only. The show cause ruling means the off campus recruiting ban will follow him to McNeese for two years. The NCAA also suspended Wade for 10 games.

Sports fans drove to work, rode to school, ate breakfast, and started their day with Mike & Mike for 17 years.
It was the biggest show on sports radio for much of the nearly two decades it aired. As it was the most lucrative.
Mike & Mike also found a presence on ESPN2, in its latter years as the anchor to First Take. Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic appeared on David Letterman. They were more famous than some of the athletes they covered.
The program ended in 2017. Greenberg moved on to front a television show called Get Up. Greenberg established himself as one of the faces of the network.

Just hours ahead of Thursday’s NBA draft, there’s been a bit of a shift at the top. The Hornets, who hold the No. 2 pick in the draft, have been torn between Alabama’s Brandon Miller or the G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson and it appears there’s momentum towards Charlotte selecting Henderson, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The team has final meetings today and will decide who will be selected. Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak told reporters Wednesday that owner Michael Jordan will have the final say on who the team selects.

Victor Wembanyama appears to have every tool needed to be a legitimate NBA superstar for years to come. But if there’s one knock against him, it’s his weight, or lack thereof. The Frenchman isn’t concerned with his critics, however, he thinks others should “skinny up.”
Wembanyama did not attend the NBA combine, but most sites have him listed between 7-foot-3 and 7-foot-5 with a weight at or slightly below 210 pounds.

Projected top-three NBA draft selection Brandon Miller has made some eye-popping comments during interviews this week, but he shared an interesting moment from his pre-draft workout with the Hornets that may just take the cake.
Miller’s workout in Charlotte was observed by outgoing Hornets owner Michael Jordan, who naturally dished out the trash talk to try to rattle the former Alabama star. But Miller came away from the workout with an embarrassing story for one of the game’s all-time greats, saying in an interview with SiriusXM that Jordan air-balled a free throw during the workout.

Gov. Ron DeSantis noticed aloud what most of America has long understood: basketball players are more athletic than baseball players.
But according to Mike Freeman of USA Today, saying so is a dog whistle for the racist whites. Or as Freeman calls it, a “bullhorn.”
Here is what DeSantis said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network:

“So I think that there’s kind of a place for everybody on a baseball team if you’re willing to work hard, if you’re willing to practice, and if you’re willing to hone your skills.
