The Boston Celtics are down 0-3 in the Eastern Conference finals and have been outscored by the Miami Heat by a combined 39 points in the series, but that isn’t stopping Marcus Smart from sending Miami a message ahead of Game 4.
Speaking Tuesday afternoon, Smart decided to say “don’t let us get one.”

While Celtics fans may appreciate Smart having confidence in his team’s ability to come back in the series, he may have wanted to keep the message to himself.

The No. 8 seed Heat were four minutes away from being eliminated in the play-in tournament by the Bulls. Now, just a month later, Miami is 48 minutes away from a trip to the NBA Finals.
The Heat have dominated the No. 2 seed Celtics in all facets over the first three games of the Eastern Conference finals, using hot shooting and stifling defense to take both games in Boston and Game 3 in Miami.
Now, Miami has Boston in a 3–0 series hole, one which has never been overcome in NBA playoff history.

The NFL’s adoption of fair catch rules on kickoffs similar to those used in the NCAA Tuesday morning inaugurated a new era in special teams. Now, any fair catch made before the return team’s 25-yard line on a kickoff will result in the ball being placed on the 25-yard line.
However, the rule has met with broad opposition, particularly with special teams coaches and players. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, “special teams coordinators unanimously opposed the change,” despite its ostensible implementation in the name of player safety.

The NBA fined Heat forward Jimmy Butler $25,000 after he didn’t participate in post-game interviews following the team’s Game 3 win over the Celtics on Sunday night.
The NBA requires players to be made available after games and to speak to the media. Therefore, Butler violated this policy by not talking with media after the game.
It’s unknown why Butler declined to speak with media after the team’s dominant 128–102 win on Sunday as he has not given a public reason for his decision. The win gave Miami a 3–0 lead with the chance to sweep Boston on Tuesday night.

A massive change is reportedly coming to special teams in the NFL for 2023.
The league approved a rule change that enables kickoff returners to fair-catch kickoffs in order to place the ball on the returning team’s 25-yard line, according to a Tuesday morning report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the rule change passed in spite of “aggressive pushback from special teams coaches and players.”
A league memo cited “player safety” as the reason for the change, which will be in effect for 2023 only.
