The first three rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft are in the books, so many of the players who will see opportunities as rookies have already had their names called. With that said, let’s look at which first-year players could struggle to make an instant fantasy impact based on their new teams and current roster competitions. We’ll start off in the Motor City, where the Lions drafted a talented runner into a crowded backfield.

We’ll start off in Carolina, where the Panthers drafted their brand-new franchise quarterback.

The Saints will make the first selection of the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft after making a trade with the Bears.
Chicago traded its No. 103 pick to New Orleans about 45 minutes before the fourth round was slated to begin on Saturday. In return, the Saints traded their No. 115 pick and the Eagles’ No. 165 pick in the fifth round to Chicago, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
New Orleans recent move comes after the Saints selected Notre Dame defensive lineman Isaiah Foskey in the second round.

• Two big names who at points over the past year were mocked in the first round that are still available: Ohio State OT Dawand Jones and Georgia CB Kelee Ringo. Both are still there for character reasons, and there’s boom or bust potential with each.
On the former, Jones’s handling of the pre-draft process has done a sizable amount of damage. The peak for him came at the Senior Bowl—when he checked in at 6’8”, 375 pounds and with a record 89.5” wingspan.
