After growing up as the son of high school Hall of Fame basketball coach Bob Hurley and the brother of former 1st Round NBA Draft pick Bobby Hurley, Dan Hurley did something that no one else in his family has accomplished at the beginning of this month. The 50-year-old became a national champion.
Hurley led the UConn to its first national title since 2013/14, which marked his first as a head coach and the first in his family.

Dillion Brooks is the main character the NBA Playoffs never needed.
The role of the NBA agitator has been around almost as long as the league itself. These players come in all shapes, sizes, and skill levels. Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Kevin Garnett were all-times greats who knew how to needle their opponents while dominating them. Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, Draymond Green, and Ron Artest were All-Star caliber players who amplified their impact by getting under the opposition’s skin.

The Commanders went 8–8–1 last season and just missed the playoffs, which set them up with the 16th pick in the 2023 NFL draft.
There are two clear and present needs for Washington: Cornerback and offensive line. Those positions are far ahead of all others in the betting markets and SI’s Albert Breer singled both out as team needs.
Breer also noted the team could use a quarterback but said he would be surprised if that’s how the Commanders decided to spend their first-round pick.

When Jalen Hurts signed his massive contract extension with the Eagles last week, he agreed to a deal that left a gap between the maximum dollar amount and the guaranteed figure. In total, Hurts has a chance to earn up to $255 million over five years. He will get $179.3 million guaranteed, which includes $110 million at signing.
On Monday, Hurts spoke with the media for the first time since agreeing to the deal, and the quarterback had a very simple answer as to why he didn’t demand a fully guaranteed pact.
“Money is nice. Championships are better,” he said.

Minnesota Twins closer Jhoan Duran has some of the nastiest stuff in Major League Baseball, and he routinely makes professional hitters look very silly while they fail to make any type of contact with his filthy pitches.
That happened earlier in the season when he threw a 101-mph splinker, and it happened again on Sunday when he threw a 102-mph fastball (with movement) and a 92-mph curveball that basically fell off the planet and made Washington’s Keibert Ruiz look foolish for trying to hit it.

Auburn baseball pulled off its largest comeback in more than a decade Sunday afternoon. The Tigers rallied from seven runs down to win by one run and take the series at home against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Cooper McMurray played a significant role, and may have made history along the way!
McMurray, a redshirt sophomore, began his career at Kansas before making the move to the SEC during the offseason.

The Texans have been at the forefront of many draft storylines ever since they solidified their position with the No. 2 pick in the 2023 draft. Whether the storylines have been good or bad has varied. But all the talk and speculation finally will end Thursday night when Houston makes its selection, but a cryptic tweet posted by the Texans didn’t help their case for staying under the radar until then.
“Failure is not an option: it’s necessary,” the tweet read. “Every misstep is a lesson learned. Every setback a chance to grow stronger. Embrace the struggle and become unstoppable.

The Jaguars were ready to pounce on this one too.
In a real “blink twice if you’re in trouble” kind of move, the Houston Texans dropped the biggest meme of draft week on Monday morning.

At a time where every team in the NFL is trying to hype up fans ahead of the draft, the Texans are, well, doing the exact opposite. Naturally when you drop something like this three days before you’re picking No.
