Denny Crum, the former hall of fame Louisville men’s basketball coach, has died at the age of 86, the school announced on Monday.
Crum spent 30 years coaching Louisville, leading the Cardinals to two NCAA championships in 1980 and ’86, making him one of 14 coaches with at least two titles. He finished his coaching career with a 675–295 record in 970 games, all of which are most in school history, and six Final Four appearances.

Jordan Poole’s struggles have turned into frustration for the entire team
Coming into the 2023 NBA Playoffs, there was reason to believe the Golden State Warriors were going to get the same Jordan Poole who was the breakout star of the 2022 playoffs.
Poole averaged 17 points per game on 39.1 shooting from three-point range, providing the Warriors with much-needed offense off the bench during their championship run.

The Pat McAfee Show may soon be getting a new home.
ESPN is reportedly the leading candidate to broadcast the show as host Pat McAfee contemplates backing out of his current contract with FanDuel, according to a Tuesday morning report from Andrew Marchand of The New York Post.
McAfee, 36, currently appears on ESPN’s College GameDay as a panelist. He started in that role in ’22 after appearing on the show as a contributor in ’19 and ’20. His flagship three-hour YouTube program, however, is contracted to FanDuel. The partnership, announced in Dec.

Klay Thompson’s questionable end-of-game shot selection had even Steve Kerr looking frustrated during Monday’s Game 4 loss to the Lakers.
Thompson did make one three in the fourth quarter, but missed a pair of deep, contested looks in the final three minutes of the game, helping the Lakers win Game 4 and take a 3–1 series lead over the Warriors. On one of those shots, a contested off-the-dribble three with 14 seconds on the shot clock in a one-point game with less than two minutes to play, Kerr bent backwards and threw his hands onto his head before the shot even got to the basket.

Lionel Messi’s father has denied widespread reports that the Argentina superstar has agreed to play in Saudi Arabia next season.
International outlet AFP reported Tuesday that the forward’s move to Saudi Arabia is a done deal. However, Jorge Messi, the player’s father and agent, rejected the reports, saying that his son’s future will be decided at the end of the season when his contract with PSG expires. 
“There is absolutely nothing with any club for next season,” Jorge Messi said in a statement on Instagram.

Kansas City Royals lefty Amir Garrett had to be taken out of Monday’s game against the Chicago White Sox early, but not before he unloaded the contents of his stomach all over the field.
Garrett was brought into the game in the seventh inning with the Royals leading 12-4. He faced just one batter — Elvis Andrus — and struck him out looking. However, after facing Andrus, Garrett needed some assistance and the team’s trainer visited him on the mound. Then as he was walking back to the dugout, he unloaded.

1. The Warriors held a 99–96 lead against the Lakers on Monday night with under three minutes remaining in the game. Golden State couldn’t close out, though, and lost Game 4 of the series, 104–101.
The late collapse by the Warriors was just too much for ESPN’s Brian Windhorst to take. On Tuesday’s Get Up, the NBA insider couldn’t help but express how frustrated he was by Golden State’s ineptness in the closing minutes.
“This was brain death,” a despondent Windhorst said of the Warriors’ execution issues.
He was just getting started, though.

Watching Jim Irsay try to kick up the dust on a tampering investigation against the Commanders for allegedly, possibly, contacting Andrew Luck to see whether he’d unretire before the franchise signed Carson Wentz is really the second-funniest NFL story of the year.
The funniest NFL story of the year is the thought that Luck would have unretired after years of physical and emotional pain, organizational mismanagement and self-doubt to play for *comedic pause* Daniel Snyder and the Washington Commanders.

When the Detroit Lions made their 2023 offseason plans, they wanted to add a quarterback to compete with Jared Goff, and the plan seemed to come together when the club selected Hendon Hooker in the NFL draft.
But while Hooker is indeed on the unofficial quarterback depth chart, perhaps as high as No. 2 ahead of Nate Sudfeld and Adrian Martinez, he’s not really going to compete or challenge Goff this season.
Because coach Dan Campbell sees this as a learning, growing, getting healthy year for his new rookie.
