Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks has built a reputation for trash talk after big wins, and he built on that infamy Wednesday by doing something many players would not: Take a shot at LeBron James.
After his team’s 103–93 win over the Lakers, Brooks was asked about a heated exchange the two had during the game.
“I don’t care, he’s old,” Brooks told reporters after the game. “I was expecting him to do that Game 4, Game 5. He wanna say something when I got my fourth foul.
“I poke bears,” he continued.
Did he or didn’t he?
On Wednesday, New York Mets pitcher Max Scherzer was ejected after being confronted by home plate umpire Dan Bellino for a second time during the game over use of a sticky substance on his hands and fingers. Scherzer was initially told to get rid of it after a second inning routine hand inspection and clearly didn’t do so to the umpire’s liking.
“As far as stickiness, level of stickiness, this was the stickiest that it has been since I’ve been inspecting hands, which now goes back three seasons,” Bellino told a pool reporter after the game.
The Athletics have entered into a binding purchase agreement for land west of the Las Vegas Strip, according to a report from Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The purchase agreement is for 49 acres of land at Dean Martin Drive and Tropicana Avenue. The deal is for land only, and includes a clause allowing the A’s to purchase an additional eight acres of land at a later date.
The Bucks beat the Heat in Game 2 on Wednesday night to even the series at 1–1, and they did so without star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was out with a back injury he suffered in Game 1.
Miami was also without one of their key players: Tyler Herro. The guard broke his hand in Game 1 and will likely be out for the rest of the playoffs.
After Game 2, Charles Barkley tried to make a point about the two injuries, but it wasn’t well received by Kenny Smith and the rest of the NBA on TNT crew.
Bryce Young has a body double.
The guy is here on set, sitting in one of those tiny, unstable-looking director’s chairs, wearing the same color hooded sweatshirt as his doppelgänger while Bryce throws a medicine ball in front of a camera. When Body Double Bryce is not here, he is acting in shows like Grown-ish and Snowfall. He has to give the hoodie back to wardrobe on his way out.
His presence is one of the many little benchmarks that remind the Young family that life is changing.

These players have the talent to come off the board in the first round, but will they?
The NFL Draft is sure to have many surprises, not just with the names that you hear on day one but also the prospects who wait for their turn until day two. In past years, that could include Malik Willis, Tre’Von Moehrig, Creed Humphrey, Michael Pittman, DK Metcalf, Drew Lock, and Nick Chubb as players who were “consensus first-round picks” who ended up being available after the first round was over.
Don’t let the Draymond Green suspension overshadow a simple truth: The Sacramento Kings have been better than the Golden State Warriors through two games.
The Houston Texans have taken multiple phone calls from other NFL teams gauging their willingness to trade the No. 2 overall selection in the coming draft, and at least one of those calls came as a result of recent rumors the Texans would not use the pick to select a quarterback, a source told OutKick.
The source is from a team that made a phone call to the Texans upon hearing rumors Houston general manager Nick Caserio is thinking of passing on a quarterback with the second pick of the draft.
Draymond Green is a four-time NBA champion and four-time NBA All-Star, but those accomplishments aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of him. Instead, it’s his antics on the floor and ability to get under the skin of opposing players and fans that is truly unmatched.
Two things can be true at once. Green is an incredibly accomplished basketball player that has made the absolute most out of his 10+ year career, but he’s also one of the most immature and childish professional athletes of his generation.
