Hugh Freeze had an idea, and Zach Arnett is on board. Although the latter is in agreement with the former, Arnett presented a thought that might create some issues for group of five programs.
Freeze, in his first year as head coach at Auburn, is frustrated with the current system of college football spring games. He doesn’t understand why schools play open scrimmages against each other when they are limited to a specific number of practices during the spring period. In his eyes, it’s a waste of a day.

Grizzlies swingman Dillon Brooks has had an adventurous 2023. The Memphis provocateur has feuded with seemingly every player of note in the NBA this season—among them Warriors forward Draymond Green, Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell and the NBA itself when it hit him with a suspension for technical foul accumulation.
Now, Brooks appears to be taking on his biggest fish yet: Lakers forward LeBron James, the league’s all-time leading scorer.
“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a seven-game series,” Brooks mused to reporters Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday, President Biden signed a law that officially ended the emergency declaration of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nearly 1,200 Division-I basketball players have entered the transfer portal since March 13, and Arkansas has interest in practically every single one. Not really, but the Razorbacks are casting a wide net.
The transfer portal has changed the game forever and head coach Eric Musselman is all-in.
Even before the portal became what it is today, Musselman has put a large focus on transfers. He turned Nevada into the go-to destination for top talent that needed a fresh start and new opportunity, and took the Wolfpack into three-straight NCAA Tournaments as a top-25 team.

Zion Williamson has been ruled out for the Pelicans’ play-in tournament game against the Thunder on Wednesday, and the star forward isn’t thrilled about having to sit on the sideline.
“The s— sucks, I don’t know how else to say it,” Williamson said, via The Athletic’s Will Guillory. “The s— sucks. I love this game. … For those people who think I just want to sit on the sideline just to sit over there, I don’t know why people think that. Nah, it sucks. I just want to be playing basketball.”
The former No. 1 pick hasn’t played since Jan.

With it being only a matter of time before the Packers trade Aaron Rodgers to the Jets, running back Aaron Jones is optimistic about the team’s replacement under center. While on the team’s five-day “Tailgate Tour,” Jones had an interesting takeaway after working out with Jordan Love in California earlier in the offseason.
“He was comfortable, throwing the ball with swag,” Jones said, per ESPN. “He knows where he wants to be, and he’s going to keep working to get there.

Timberwolves wing Kyle Anderson spoke with reporters about the incident involving Rudy Gobert for the first time since the center swung at him in the team’s regular season finale on Sunday.
Gobert, who was suspended by the team for the franchise’s Tuesday night play-in game against the Lakers, punched Anderson in the chest during a timeout in Sunday’s win over the Pelicans.
Anderson explained that he was not happy with the fan response to the altercation, especially as the team looks to quickly move forward and focus on the task at hand.
