Josh Allen is entering his sixth season with the Buffalo Bills with a new mindset, and one Bills Mafia will surely appreciate as the franchise continues to chase its first Super Bowl appearance since 1993.
With five seasons now under his belt, and realizing Father Time is undefeated, Allen is set to take a more serious approach into year No. 6. Allen is going to be a QB first, and a football player second.
“I’ve always had the mindset of, I’ve been a football player first and a quarterback second,” Allen said during a news conference. “At some point that is going to have to switch.

Jaguars defensive back Chris Claybrooks was arrested over the weekend in Nashville.
Claybrooks was arrested on charges of domestic assault with bodily injury and vandalism under $1,000 after an alleged incident involving an unnamed woman identified as his ex-girlfriend, according to Jacksonville.com.
The 25-year-old NFL player is accused of grabbing a woman’s cell phone and throwing it into the ground of a movie theater parking lot. He was released on a $2,500 bond and will appear in court May 1, according to the same report.
Both charges are misdemeanors.

From the time he stepped on the field at Eastside High School, Richardson has been a star. Now, he has a new challenge ahead of him: becoming the face of an NFL franchise
The ball hit the ceiling.
If there were a Pro Day throw that would encapsulate Anthony Richardson, it would be that one. Five step drop, one hitch—THWONG.
The echoes rang out through the indoor facility at the University of Florida, where every scout and media member was in awe of what happened.
“Wait, he did what?”
“I’ve never actually seen that happen in person.

Reed was a Senior Bowl standout and second-teamm All-Big Ten, but he’s one of the smallest receivers in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In yet another NFL Draft where wide receiver beauty is in the eye of the draft card holder, it’s easy to see why a team will fall in love with Michigan State star Jayden Reed on Day 2. A three-year starter for the Spartans, Reed left school as one of the most prolific receivers and kick returners in team history. Reed was twice named second-team All-Big Ten, and he was a standout at this year’s Senior Bowl.

As written here at the start of the month, the biggest story of the 2023 offseason was bound to be the contract structures of new deals for top quarterbacks such as Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert (and Lamar Jackson, though it doesn’t appear he’ll get a new deal). Now a year removed from Deshaun Watson’s contract, we have yet to see what I thought would be a disruption in the industry. If that disruption was going to happen, it would be from these young faces of their franchises with high leverage.

Slow play on the PGA Tour is a topic of discussion each year, but this year it seems like the conversation has started earlier than usual. Matt Fitzpatrick had a front-row seat to one of the perceived slow-play culprits during last week’s RBC Heritage, and did not hold back with his criticisms about pace of play.
Patrick Cantlay and his snail’s pace came into the spotlight during the final round of the Masters when it took he and Viktor Hovland close to five hours to make their Sunday loop around Augusta National, and it wasn’t Hovland’s fault.

Hockey players have guts.
Tuesday night’s NHL playoff game between the Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets featured a scene out of a slasher flick as one unfortunate player was sliced on his face with an ice skate.
This isn’t the classic “Black Christmas” we’re talking about here … it’s a hockey game.
Winnipeg Jets forward Morgan Barron was cut near his right eye in as players bunched up around Vegas’ net during the first period. Barron stooped low enough only to have his face slashed by Golden Knights goaltender Laurent Brossoit.

There is a narrative being pushed and we don’t have to fall for it.
The Lamar Jackson situation remains the most nonsensical drama in the NFL with the 2023 NFL Draft approaching. Nobody has attempted to sign the former MVP, even quarterback-needy teams in desperate demand of a positional upgrade who are outside the top-five in the draft where they could find a passer.
With each passing day it lends credence to the idea that there’s collusion among NFL front offices.

Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule appeared to take a not-so-subtle jab at Deion Sanders and other coaches in love with the transfer portal.
Sanders has been the face of dominating and building through the transfer portal since taking over the Colorado Buffaloes.
The portal opened without restrictions this past Saturday, and Coach Prime was more than ready to, once again, exploit it. He did the same thing when he was hired by Colorado. Deion Sanders used it as a tool to immediately upgrade the roster.

Dink Pate made history with his decision to play pro basketball over college.
The four star recruit in the 2024 class announced Tuesday that he’s reclassifying to the 2023 class and will sign with the NBA G-League to play for the Ignite.
Pate will then enter the 2025 NBA Draft in a couple years. Top prospects can earn several hundred thousand dollars to play in the G-League over the traditional college route.

With much pray, thought, consideration, and council I have chosen to reclassify up from the class of 2024 to the class of 2023.
