It’s not often that Trevor Lawrence takes the time to complete a lengthy, in-depth interview.

The NBA board of governors voted decisively 29-1 to approve the new anti-tanking lottery system called “the 3-2-1 Lottery.” Starting in the 2027 draft, the lottery will expand from 14 to 16 teams and flatten the odds.

The NBA on Thursday announced its new anti-tanking rules, which will expand the lottery from 14 to 16 teams, further flatten odds and penalize teams with the three worst records.
The new rules will be implemented for the 2027 draft and run through 2029. The league’s board of governors will determine in 2030 whether to keep the new rules or reform again.
Teams that fail to make the playoffs or play-in tournament will each receive three lottery balls for next year’s drawing, except for the three teams with the worst records.

The deadline for players to take their names out of the NNA Draft has come and gone, and the news was (mostly) good for college basketball.

It may be the off-season for college football, but coaches and players are not sitting around sipping cocktails on a beach. Offseason workouts and strength & conditioning sessions are officially voluntary, but you have to think that teams like Alabama are likely getting 100% participation.

The French Open says it will “significantly fine” Adolfo Daniel Vallejo after he made “unacceptable” and “sexist” comments about a female umpire.
Vallejo, 22, said second-round match at Roland Garros should not have been umpired by Brazil’s Ana Carvalho as women do not have the “courage” to handle the crowd.

The Boston Red Sox are going to need to be bold if they want to turn the 2026 Major League Baseball season around. 
Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow has already acknowledged that he has had discussions with teams about potential trades to improve Boston’s offense. Boston desperately needs more firepower and specifically from the right side of the plate.

Former San Angelo Central baseball star Davis Martin allowed one run on two hits, tossing six innings as the Chicago White Sox topped the Minnesota Twins 6-2 on Thursday.
Martin (8-1) is the first White Sox pitcher since Lance Lynn in 2021 to win six straight decisions, and the first since Lucas Giolito in 2019 to win eight of his first 11 starts.
