Rookie shortstop Konnor Griffin and the Pirates are in agreement on a nine-year extension, locking up the top prospect in baseball less than a week after his major league debut.

After electing to hit the NCAA transfer portal, former LSU forward Michael Nwoko has signed with Xavier, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. It’ll be the fourth school of his career.
Nwoko spent one season with LSU, but with the coaching change to Will Wade, he decided on a change of scenery. He also spent a season each with Miami (2023-24) and Mississippi State (2024-25).
In 32 games for LSU last year, Nwoko averaged 13.4 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game and 0.8 assists per game. He shot 61% from the floor.

Du Plessis (23-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) was smothered by Chimaev (15-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) in their middleweight title fight at UFC 319, where he lost a lopsided unanimous decision. He was taken down 12 times and controlled for more than 21 minutes.
However, when asked about his toughest fight, Du Plessis had a different answer.

The Wisconsin Badgers are not among the initial list of schools in pursuit of Joel Foxwell, even with his older brother recently committing to the program.
Owen Foxwell, a star point guard in the NBL, flipped his commitment from LSU to Wisconsin. The Badgers have lost a few notable seniors and had two starters join the transfer portal, so they’re fighting to build a new roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.
While it seems like Joel could be an easy name to bring in, the Badgers have reportedly yet to join his recruitment.

Last week, Bosnia and Herzegovina secured its spot in the 2026 World Cup with a dramatic win over Italy in the UEFA play-in tournament. The game, which came down to a penalty shootout, ended on a thrilling made penalty from an unlikely hero: 21-year-old American-born forward Esmir Bajraktarević.
Bajraktarević, who was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin to Bosnian parents, successfully slipped the ball past Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the goal to give Bosnia a 1(4)-1(1) win in the shootout.
