The Chicago Cubs placed starting pitcher Matthew Boyd on the 15-day injured list Monday with a biceps strain.
Manager Craig Counsell told reporters that the injury is not significant and that the Cubs are hoping to get Boyd back for a series against the New York Mets that starts on April 17.
“We think we can put this behind him and not have to worry about it, instead of worrying about [the bicep] start to start,” Counsell said, per the Chicago Sun-Times.
Boyd joins fellow starter Cade Horton on the injured list.

The No. 1 priority for the Carolina Panthers this offseason should be growing the supporting cast around quarterback Bryce Young. Above all else, that means adding more receiving weapons to complement the fine work that 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan did in 2025.
While McMillan racked up over 1,000 receiving yards, nobody else on the team managed even 400—so taking either another potential star wideout or pass-catching tight end should be on the menu in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft.
With that in mind, a new five-round mock draft from NFL.

Never get involved in a road rage scene because you never know who the other motorist may turn out to be.
UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones, arguably the greatest fighter to ever step inside the Octagon, was caught on video over the weekend in a heated road rage exchange that could have gone south(paw) quickly.
The situation involved a driver, identified as Bryan Beltran, who claimed Jones nearly clipped his vehicle multiple times.
Beltran, apparently unaware of who he was dealing with, responded by revving his engine and flipping Jones off.
